Someone tell Hoffman.
I'm guttered you don't want to start that argument :loool:dont start that argument again bspwn :P

I'd start with Copley in the centres. Kahu's defence is kinda suspect, and Copley played a lot there in the U20s, I think.
Scored a heap of tries in NYC 2010 playing centre......top try scorer for the NYC that year, I think.
11 tries from 21 games in 2010.
I must be one of the few that aren't enamoured by the prospect of Hoffman, Kahu, Copley and Reed in our backline next year.
it's ok, but it's nothing more than that. Hoffman ain't a centre, Reed is a great defender and enthusiastic attacker but hes not gonna break a game open there, Copley is coming back from 12 months off and he never cemented his position in the side as a reliable back (only reliable enough to ensure dropped balls when en route to the tryline, sounds familiar hmm?) and Kahu looks O.K, but again, nothing special, doesn't stand out as someone having above average strength/speed/footwork/flair/intelligence.
I feel we're papering over the cracks a little bit with regards to our backline and lack of X factor there. Hopefully if Barba and Milford arrive as intended all they'll need to do is catch and run.
Sounds like a lot of hope. Like we had at the start of this year. ;)plenty of good sides have average outside backs. souths 2 3 4 5 are pretty average.
you put barba at the back behind hunt who will hopefully "come of age" next year and 2 3 4 5 just have to play their roles
On what basis? Do you remember Copley pre-injury? I don't think anyone does because they everyone seems to have delusions of grandeur about his return. Let me fill everyone in: He was a frustrating as **** wing/centre that butchered gimme tries like his name was Lachlan Maranta. I'd like some of what everyone else is smoking, to have the idea that a player who was barely first grade standard and made consistent errors, is going to come back, slot into a role he's never played at a top level, and start kicking ass.I'm pretty Bullish of the prospect of Copley in the centres next year. Even Kahu has good potential.
He was just slightly above average. Just how much are we overrating our youngsters?
Overrating or Underrating?? Your argument can be looked at both ways. Put it this way, Copley played 95% of his first grade games out of position. He is a centre and played very little on the wing in under 20's. He was really starting to improve at the back end of 2012. Why can't we be bullish about some of our young players?
I'm in the same boat...Ben Hunt.
I'm still eating my words
