It's nearly the new year and a lot of us won't be back here til it is.

I'm already planning on going to Game 1 in Melbourne should be sensational! Never been to Melbourne before so I'm really psyched about it.

So can we go back to back to back to back? I think we can! icon_thumbs_u

As long as us QLD'ers dont get too cocky, remember the world cup final (*shudders sideshow bob style)

The NSW side is the one most in the open to be honest. I'll put it out there now for a Peter Wallace /Trent Barret halves partnership that could be dangerous, and a damaging feleti mateo on the bench or at lock as long as they can get past the change of aliances rules.

oh and like you said dukey definetly Ennis at number 9... if gidleys fit he'll take the bench utility spot otherwise farrar will be used as an interchange hooker (*rubs crystal ball)

1 Slater
2 Inglis
3 Tate
4 Hodges
5 Folau
6 Locky/Thurston/Prince
7 Thurston/Prince
8 Price
9 Smith
10 Civo
11 Thaiday
12 Harrison/Myles
13 Johnson

14 Hunt
15 Lillyman/Setu
16 Myles/Harrison
17 Kenny/Hannant/Taylor

IMO, that will be very close to the first choice side picked, obviously injuries and in some cases form (Hodges...) will determine a lot this far out. Really the backline, front row are locked in (maybe a centre and wing position open). The only real openings are the backrowers and maybe a surprise bench prop.

Farrah is a bit injury prone, definitely Ennis for the Blew hooker. Wallace/Campese would be an interesting combo, and so would Barrett/Wallace...but I think the old fuddy duddy NSW selectors have their heart set on Pearce and would be surprised if he's in any kind of game winning form they won't select him. (rolling eyes at their stupid ways).

I forgot about Tate, doh, he probably had his best Origin series in 08.

I think NSW will again be the media favourites, like every year...and they could well field a formidable team, but seriously, do you think Bellyache will drop White? HAHAHA, sif!

I like your NSW Side Beads, apart from O'Meley who I would have on the bench and Kite in the starting side. It's formidable. Particularly the back row & back line! If these guys all stay in form and get selected they'll definitely give us a run for our money.

I'd have Harrison starting and Thaiday on the bench for QLD. I hope Kemp can retain his form and make the grade, or Michaels....Boyd pfft.

No need for Kemp/Michaels/Boyd when Tate/Inglis/Hodges/Folau are all available.

If injuries though, Id take Kemp then Michaels as backup

When do tickets go on sale?

Game 2 is in Sydney this year, yeh?

I am also thinking of making the trip south to Melbourne for Game 1. Hope I can get tickets for the Suncorp match.

ning: Yeah, I think Game 2 is Sydney.

I think the entire backline minus the fullback picks itself really -

2. Inglis
3. Tate
4. Hodges
5. Folau
6. Lockyer
7. Thurston

It's perfect this way IMO. Inglis and Folau have defensive issues in the centres, and they are the two best players under the high ball and 2 of the best finishers in the NRL. I think them being on the wings is the best way to go.

Tate on the other hand is a failure on the wings, but he is probably the 2nd best defensive centre in the NRL, and easilly QLD's best defensive centre. He isn't too shabby in attack either.

Thurston and Lockyer are obvious selections.

We can be beaten, as NZ proved! A lot comes down to the forwards, if they can hold their own. Once again the blues may have more mobility and flair in the forwards but their backline is feeble compared to ours and that is being very nice.
Once again, I think with the current QLD team, the only way I see a loss happening is if NSW shoot out of the blocks and score a couple of tries very early, say 10 mins in or so and just take it form there and therefore QLD go intoa shell and produce mediocrity to lose the game OR game is in the balance and some QLDER makes an outlandish mistake. Though the former scenario is quite possible, more likely than not QLD would be just too good for the series but may drop a game.

Farah will most definitely get the no.9 If he gets an injury free year and plays most games he's definitely better than ennis IMO.

QLD side will be close to identical to what was chosen this year.
NSW side, way too much room for change so I won't bother trying to name one.

Hammo's team is on the money.

Hopefully Willie Tonga can hit some form at the Cowboys, he'd be a handy back up if something happened to Inglis, Folau etc. And, as a few others have selected, Clinton could be a bolter for NSW. They need a prop and I reckon he's set for a surprisingly solid season.

Definitely don't see Clinton as a bolter, too inconsistant.

I don't think NSW are short on props either.

Brent Kite, Luke Bailey, Mark O'Meley, Ben Cross, Josh Perry are all definitely in front of him then theres also Luke Douglas, Justin Poore, Bryce Gibbs & Todd Payten on par if not in front of him also.

Lets hope Clinton can just have a solid start to the season for the broncos before anything else!!
