Our weakness in 2009

IMO we were just flat the other night. Our forwards have matched it with the Cowboys, Storm and Warriors so far this year... I'm not concerned at all.

Our weakness in 2009 is shared by other teams too, and that's dominance in and around the ruck. Our backline relies on getting QUICK ball and momentum after a tackle. The Dragons pushed it to the limit, but were able to lie on us just long enough to slow our momentum, but not long enough to get penalised for it. Perfect gameplan, well executed, and we were flat footed nine times out of 10.

I think our forwards in the first 3 games have more then held their own. The usual downside of having such a young and inexperienced team is inconsistency. Everyone calls for youth but screams when they don’t live up to expectation week after week, that’s where the experience from the "old heads" comes into play. All that aside if we played they way we did against the warriors we would have beaten the Dragons easily, we didn't and lost. We really could have been 0-4 considering the teams we have played so I think we can allow a poor game from time to time. As long as the team learns from it and comes out and wins against the Roosters this weekend.

Our weakness on Friday night was having a big, unexpected win the week before. Everyone started blowing wind up their arses, favourites etc, and clearly their minds weren't on the job on Friday. As I think Gus said on the Roast yesterday, the worst thing that could happen to the Broncos was to send the ball wide early and Folau stroll over for a try. They were already thinking they're pretty good, and to score immediately just says "pfft, we've got these jokers".

When they finally woke up they were down 22-6.

Our bench lets us down because the selections are poor. Broncos need to get over this idea that you need someone on the bench as a reserve back. By all means, have a back rower who can fill in in the centres as a pinch, but forget having a specialist back on the bench.

Also wish they'd get over the reserve hooker idea.

Just have 4 forwards, 2 props and 2 back rowers.

I tend to agree with Coxy about this. If you are going to have cover for the backs, make it Glenn, so he can also cover the backrow. Having two hookers is an absolute waste of an interchange position IMO. Surely the hooker should be able to play 80 minutes, if not, get Parker and Glenn to work at training at filling in there for short periods. Then get big impact forwards to fill the balance of the spots. Taylor, Sims etc.

Regardless, we probably aren't as big shots as before in terms of going in to big matches expected to win. That could be a good thing.

So far the Broncos have won their two close games, and the others have been a comprehensive win, and comprehensive loss.

Goalkicking has not bitten us....yet.

Don't kid yourself, Teo has done close to nothing this year, in fact in most games i've forgetten hes been playing because he has done SFA, and to above poster, I'd take parker over teo ANY DAY!

Goalkicking may be A weakness, but it hasn't been an issue so far thankfully.

i was excited to hear that Te'o had signed with the broncos but atm he hasnt found his feet yet. i reckon he will be the next TC and will be running off Locky alot more. he did that against the warriors and had a great game.

give him some time ppl. 4 games isnt enough.
