I can't find the link to this but Paul White is having a Q and A this afternoon

@brisbanebroncos: REMINDER BRONCOS MEMBERS: CEO Paul White available for your qstns tonight from 5:30pm. Check your Member Mail enews. http://t.co/euf8ChI4OW

Respectful questions only please, like what do the players have for lunch?

If someone could do a transcript like last time we had one with Griffin, I'd be so appreciative. plzplzplzplzplzplz

Someone please ask is Milford def coming in 2014...

"Anthony is a terrific young lad who has committed to join the Brisbane Broncos in 2014. We have no doubts he will honour his agreement with us next season".

Ummm 2015?

Mr White ..... do you and the board have full confidence in the head coach ?

Do you think the path we are heading down is one which will bring us a premiership in the next few years ?

Rockin' the Game of Thrones spoiler right out there in the open

My question would be "Paul, ever since the 2006 Premiership, Brisbane's player retention and recruitment policies have lost us numerous test stars and young, promising talents. Are you confident this issue has been resolved with the signings of Barba and Milford? Or would you agree with the sentiment that their signings were ones of convenient opportunism, rather than genuine desire to play for our club?"

So what? At least if he's asked he'll be aware that on field performances do matter in the eyes of the fans. It's not all about crowds, sponsors etc - unless they start to drop off due to the team not playing an attractive brand of footy.

You don't think he realises that already?

do you really think that he wouldn't know the main thing fans care about is on field performances.

and i'm all for asking him the hard questions, but those will just get you the usual pr bs that everyone complains about. and when he does give the answers we all know he would give to those 2 questions, then people will start complaining once again about the PR.

It's called straight talking. If club management are buying into the notion of 'well we know there are problems but let's not talk about them and besides, Milford will fix everything,' I think is harmful to the long-term health of the club.

There was a great question about recruitment and retention a few posts back. He may well already be aware of it, why not share it with the fans? Those funny people that go to the games, buy the jerseys etc.

Yeah true, Foordy. It just irks me a bit. The fact that the club still enjoys great support, both fans and corporate, despite not having a good year last year makes me think they're not that fazed about it. One of those unearned advantages of being a one team town could be part of it.

that recruitment question was a cracking question and i hope it does get asked...

but asking questions about the board having full confidence in Hook and if he thinks we will win a premiership in the next 5 years, i'll answer them for you (because i already know the answers).

1. yes the board has full confidence in Anthony Griffin as head coach of the Brisbane Broncos and beleive he is the right man to lead us in to the future

2. Yes i beleive we are capable of winning the premiership within the next 5 years. the club has a good core group of players that a premiership team can be built around.

regardless of what he actually thinks they are the answers you will get to the questions. hell the board usually tell the media that the coach has their full support just days before they sack him

I invite anyone present at the Q&A to copy paste my question to him. I doubt he will even acknowledge it, because the only answer to it is our recruitment and retention since the 06 premiership have been abhorrent and the only way is up.

What's the latest on Anthony Millford

Paul White:
Hi Nathan

Paul White:
As you're aware we've signed Anthony for next season and our view is he will be with the club for the start of the start of the 2015 season

Kym
Always attend the home games, looking forward to no mad rush up the M1from the GC with the public holiday. Will get to see the 20's as well finally. Excited about the big crowd building

Paul White:
Thanks Kym

Paul White:
There's a big crowd building love your enthusiasm and we hope to give you a great Broncos experience on Friday night, let your mates know there's still plenty of tickets available but we are anticipating a big crowd

david
Hi Paul - in regards to corey and hodgo extended deal - can u see them apart of the playing team after the net 2 years?

Paul White:
Hi David

Paul White:
it's great news for both Corey and Hodgo and the club that we've secured them for the next 2 years

Paul White:
as with all the great players they're the only ones ultimately that will decide when their time is up and we will give these 2 guys the respect they deserve in enabling them to have a discussion with us early in the 2016 season

Paul White:
with the way that they apply themselves to training and their attention to their rehab and just in the game generally I think we will see a lot more players playing on into their mid-30s

Guest
can we look at a accommodation relief for regional members...do the club have a motel chain under there wing...as attending a home game is a killer with the cost now days

Club Moderator:
We have a new deal with Accor whereby members receive special offers. Details of these offers will always be included in the member e-newsletter - Member Mail

Kym
Hi Paul. We were lucky enough to attend the NRL season launch as members, the fan day was fantastic too. Must commend the Club and the boys for being so friendly and approachable. Is the Club planning on offering more member only events in the future. It's great to be recognised for being a member with something a little special

Paul White:
It was great to be with yourselves and other members at the NRL Season Launch, I'm always very proud to stand in a gathering like that with our season members and see how important it is to our members that they're recognised and participate in our club.

Paul White:
As you would have seen from our member fan day at the stadium we are constantly reviewing our member benefits and how we recognise and reward loyalty with exclusivity of being a member

Nathan
Are we in the market for more signings?

Paul White:
Nathan, there's a lot of questions around recruitment coming through, can I just say that we don't go public with our recruitment activities but we have a commitment as you would be aware to develop our own players and we are a development club, however where opportunities arise and where we see the need we will enter the market

Paul White:
I know that that doesn't always satisfy our members but clearly if we are a club that conducts our dealing and negotiations with integrity, respect and confidentiality we will be a more attractive club to talk to

david
is jharal currently working with the club or is he taking a rest?

Club Moderator:
Further details of the Accor offer can be found on this page http://www.broncos.com.au/m...

Paul White:
Hi David, Jharal continues to work with the club and the footy team and traveled with the team last week to Newcastle and is a valuable member of the team now off the field in his contribution but he also has a role working within our other programs and assisting us with some of our activities on game day which I know he enjoys

Guest
Hi Paul. Are the Broncos going to come back to Dunedin next year?

Paul White:
We had a great time in Dunedin and we are currently reviewing our trial options for next year and we know one of those will be with the Warriors but we haven't committed to a venue yet. Are you an Across the Ditch Member?
Dean
So what is the deal with David Hala? Is he in the bad books with griffin? He is easily one of our best forwards and could play a pivotal role from the bench for us. Could you explain what the reasoning is for him not being picked when andy can play 80minutes and granville only played 15? Thanks

Paul White:
Hi Dean, David is very much part of our plans and part of the Coachs plans. We are fortunate at the moment that we haven't had many injuries and our selected players have been performing well. Just to let you know David is playing great in Q Cup and continues to work hard at training and as you know I am sure with his injuries behind him, he will play a big part in our season

Clinton
At Broncos home games, the players don't tend to do a full (proper) "victory" lap. They don't come up near the fence like other clubs and codes do. I have been told that this is due to commitments after the game. I would of thought the acknowledging your fans for turning out to the game would/should be the clubs biggest commitment after a game. What are your thoughts?

Paul White:
I agree with your thoughts Clinton. You would have noticed for our Cowboys game the team did go right up to the fence. It's good to have that feedback and I know the team enjoys interacting with the fans and we will try to make this a regular occurrence and I respect exactly what you are saying

Comment From Dom
How will we improve the Broncos' consistency in regards to closing out matches.

Club Moderator:
Hi Graeme, further above in the conversation you'll find a link to member only offers with Accor. There are some great savings to take advantage of for Broncos members who travel to Brisbane.

Comment From david
corey parker in particular looks like he could play until he is 35 to me

Comment From david
good work on the members day this year paul - seemed everyone enjoyed themselves - thank you!

Paul White:
Hi Dom, the players and the coach are conscious of how important this will be for us if we are to go deep into the back end of the year. I think the most pleasing thing from our win over the Knights last Friday night is that we finished the game off strongly and hopefully that is a bit of a view into the future.

Comment From Graeme Huther
thank you...I will look at that moderator

Comment From Warren
Are the broncos looking to secure our young talent instead of signing older players wanting to be paid overs

Paul White:
Hi Warren,

Comment From Keith
Yes Paul. I am a member as well. I am a bronco supporter for like.

Paul White:
Our priority as you know being a development club is to develop young players and keep them at the club to realise their full potential and while the signing of those players coming through our system don't always make the back page I can assure you we work equally hard in securing both our experienced and up and coming players

Comment From Brad
Hi Paul, what have our crowd attendance figures been like so far? are we up on last year?

Comment From Errol
Hi Paul, is the club concerned by it's 'indifferent' goal kicking options? By some count there has been about 5 games lost since the beginning of season 2013 because of average goalkicking on our behalf. Is there a program in place to address this?

Paul White:
The players work hard on every aspect of their game and we do have specialist skill coaches in every area. While I respect the argument we also had the opportunity to finish off the games and our continued focus will remain on all areas of the performance

Comment From Keith
Hi Paul, Yes I am from Dunedin. I joined as a across the ditch member this year. I'm a broncos fan for life.

Comment From Graeme Huther
How is Mr Lockyer settling in at his new role at the club?

Paul White:
Hi Graeme good to hear from you

Paul White:
Darren is making a very important contribution as a director and has a unique insight into elite playing performance but also is extremely committed to assisting our club to develop and grow in all areas. As he displayed as a player he works very hard in ensuring he understands and prepares for all aspects of the role and is and will continue to be an important member of our board

Club Moderator:
Hi Brad, our attendances have been great this year and it's terrific to know that our members and fans are always right behind the team. We are tracking for a crowd in excess of 40,000 on Friday night, so we look forward to putting on a great night at the footy again this week.

Comment From James
The Broncos have been the bench mark for a number of years now off the field. Great attendance numbers, mid week programs with players. However other clubs are catching up. What can the club do in future years, which will set it apart from the rest ?

Comment From Yani
Hi Paul I was just wondering where is David stagg?

Club Moderator:
David Stagg sustained another injury playing for Wynnum recently so we are awaiting his return which won't be far away

Comment From Graeme Huther
Yes club Moderator...I see its a 15% discount...

Paul White:
Hi James a key part of our strategy is continual improvement and you will have seen by the development of our television program Broncos Insider our membership initiatives and activations our commitment to continue to challenge ourselves and stadium management on areas of opportunity. With a focus on never being satisfied with where we are at and being comfortable to look at where others are doing it better we will continue to maintain a benchmark standard

Comment From Chris
Qld or NSW 2014?

Club Moderator:
QLD for the win

Comment From Warren
Are you looking to have more family specials for games and also maybe more merchandise included in non local memberships ?

Comment From Kym
The academy being set up really ensures we are identifying future talent before the others clubs nab them, will we see a return to the Cyrill days when it's our forte. A few young guns seem to be slipping through the last few years.

Paul White:
Recruitment and development will remain the foundation of our club as it was when Cyril was at the club. As you highlight, the established of an academy at Logan, the continuation of our junior academies and our recent appointments which include Peter Nolan into the role of recruitment manager we will be in a strong position to meet our current and future challenges but we will never be complacent

Club Moderator:
Hi Warren, we have one confirmed Sunday afternoon game so far this season so we will certainly be encouraging families to come along and enjoy an afternoon at the footy when we play Manly. Non-ticketed memberships include a range of merchandise, and these inclusions are constantly being reviewed. If you have any ideas for inclusions that you'd like to see added feel free to email membermail@broncos.com.au

Comment From Graeme Huther
Now Paul..you are the most approachable CEO of any club and make any member really feel like a Broncos Family memeber to which I have had the pleasure of sharing a cold ale...thank you mate...you are doing a great job...for a great team!

Comment From Brad
Is there any news on how young Ash taylor is going? i know the broncos signed him on a considerable contract last year. Is he currently injured?

Paul White:
Yes Ash is currently injured and spent the off season with our NRL squad. He is recovering from a shoulder injury and we hope to see him back on the field before the halfway mark of the season

Comment From Yani
Hello Paul where is David Stagg

Club Moderator:
Hi Yani, David Stagg is currently out due to injury. Sustained playing for Wynnum.

Comment From Guest
Hi paul I won a prize today with the nrma broncos in the know to do the coin toss at the broncos vs titans. Will be or could you be at toss as well

Comment From peter
Thoughts on a second brisbane NRL team?

Paul White:
Hi Peter, I have been asked this question many times over the last 3 years and there has been no clearly stated position on expansion at this stage and it will be up to the game to make those considerations. What I have said and will continue to say is we and the team here at the club will work hard to take advantage of our opportunities that help make our club better. It is important to recognise that our role as part of the game is to work with the NRL and other clubs to help ensure the current 16 clubs are strong and financially secure as an immediate priority.

Comment From Warren
I agree with Grahame thank you for putting yourself out there for the fans no other CEO would do this

Club Moderator:
Congratulations on the win, you'll be in good hands and it'll be a great experience for you.

Comment From Graeme Huther
I think you knew I would be here...lol

Comment From Guest
Hi Paul - do you have any news on Barba's ankle? he looked in alot of pain the other night. thanks

Club Moderator:
Thanks so much for joining us everyone. We will keep going for another five minutes as the questions are rolling in fast. We'll stay on board for a few more minutes to answer a couple more.

Paul White:
Ben looks to have recovered well even immediately after the game and we're looking forward to seeing him in action on our home ground on Friday night

Comment From Nathan
Are you happy with our start to the season, and which players have impressed you the most so far this year?

Paul White:
Nathan, it's been a solid start to the season and the challenge for us I think is now to take advantage of that start and Friday night is one of those opportunities to string 2 wins back to back against quality oppositions which won't be easy. I think the pleasing thing about the teams performance is that they've shared the load individually in most games there have been some stand out performances but that has been spread pretty evenly across the team across the 7 rounds and the best thing I have seen is the enjoyment that they're getting out of their performances

Comment From Guest
Hi Paul, what are your thoughts on the recent dramas with refereeing decisions? Do you think changes are needed to the refereeing process?

Paul White:
Referees are no different to anyone working within our game and their performance like everyones is always under review. I think with those review processes in place and some quality people in the NRL working really hard to improve the game, the game is well placed to be able to move on from these recent controversies. I think we do need to also recognise that the reason decisions have been so controversial is because of the quality and closeness of almost every game which does speak loudly for the quality of our competition

Paul White:
Sorry I couldn't get to everyones questions thanks very much for you participation, your ongoing support and in particular your membership in our club and I will be back for another web chat throughout the season. See you all Friday night

I'm pretty sure that's what happened with Henjak.

I remember reading he had the support of the board, then all of a sudden he was sacked not long after.

I still think losing Inglis was the breaking point..
