Prop Payne Haas has won a historic third consecutive Paul Morgan Medal as the Brisbane Broncos’ Player Of The Year.

At just 21 years of age, Haas joins legends Darren Lockyer, Corey Parker and Petero Civoniceva as three-time winners of the club’s most prestigious on-field award. Only Allan Langer has won the medal more times. The diminutive halfback took out the award five times, including four in a row from 1993-96. Haas becomes the only Bronco since Langer to win the Paul Morgan Medal for three consecutive seasons.

This is a guy that should never play in another jersey. He could easily go down as the best prop we've ever had.

I have faith DD will get a deal done. I'm all for letting players walk if they get fussy but there's one thing good clubs don't do, and it's letting the truly elite players go. He's the sort of player who will attract others to the club, even though he's a kid himself you can just see that the whole team lifts when he's on.

Get the extension done.

How did Jake Turpin get most consistent over Haas?

Watching DD talk last night i got the sense of somebody who knew exactly what they were doing and it gave me a lift to know he was now fully in charge of what was happening there. The joint recognition of Clubperson of the Year: Eloise KELLY & Dave BALLARD had his fingerprints all over it and was a small but significant masterstroke too.

The fact Alfie was fully enjoying himself well before the night was even kicking off suggests he was relaxed in the knowledge that the club was once again in good hands.

2022 I'm predicting will see the strongest statement coming form the Broncos in years. if I'm being honest I'm a bit over seeing the Storm 'stealing' so many of our third party financial agreements and appearing in every other ad on our screens. That potential cash earnings for OUR players needs to be reclaimed, and the only way to get those arrangements back is to be successful on the field. This is also the only way we win back our kids too. I'm sick of seeing my nephews supporting the Storm.

I think Cobbo has the potential to become a huge star among Qld kids and he will be a great 'weapon' in the popularity wars as he forms a deadly combination with Staggs.

Interesting that Drinkwater wasn't in the convo despite shitloads of people clamouring for him to sign for us.

He did have a bit of Brodie Croft about him this year, tried hard but just couldn't deliver all the time.

I know this was steamed but is there any replay available or even highlight footage?

He’s a fullback being made to play 5/8 in a shit team with no direction imo (in terms of team selection). I expect a similar drop off for Hynes next year.

hold my beer.........

because he was more consistently poor then Haas was consistently good.
