PENRITH'S NSW State of Origin hopeful Michael Jennings and hooker Masada Iosefa have been arrested and charged over an alleged alcohol fuelled brawl last night.

A police spokeswomen said a 21-year-old My Druitt man was charged with ``affray, common assault, assault police and fail to quit licensed premises'' and that a 21-year-old Dharruk man was charged with ``affray, resist arrest and fail to quite licensed premises''.

I think if either of them are guilty of assaulting police they will/should be booted by the club. Bloody stupid whether they are guilty of anything, why wouldn't you just have the fella's from the team over for drinks for your birthday in the current environment.

I've heard that Iosefa is a nutbox on the drink and was only a matter of time before he was caught up in this kind of stuff.

Yep, same thing my volleyballers were trying to do all last week; thinking I wouldn't keep penalising them if they kept acting up; they were also proved wrong :-)

Just another thing the league did not need. He is a talent to off the bench for Canberra, would be a shame if this does his career in. If that was to happen though hopefully the players will think twice about drinking

Jennings I'm kind of suprised at, he seems a fairly calm person. Iosefa, not so suprised.

Jennings might well have ruined his origin chances with that incident....which would be a shame for NSW because they really need him out there. Qlders at the moment will be laughing all the way to the bank.....one less threat they have to worry about.

On a serious note this has got to stop. The only way it will is if these two are made an example of....with that said they wont boot jennings because he and Civo are the stars of their team. I have a funny feeling Iosefa will be the scapegoat, which is a shame because he oozes talent on the field. If the Panthers dont step in here the NRL have shown they will so they should be expecting to be on the sidelines for the next few weeks!

Why the F would any professional footy player go to the Mean Fiddler?

I don't think there's a bloke alive that has been to that pub without being involved in a blue. I used to go there all the time back when it was a little Irish pub that showed the League on the big screen on Friday nights.

There was the odd blue back then too, but you'd both be catching the same courtesy bus home so you'd settle it over a burger on the way out the back door.

The bigger the place got, the younger the crowd got and the more violent it became.

Footy players should not be allowed there. Too many drunk westie blokes and jail-bait girls.

Scapegoat is a bit harsh of a call at this stage. Iosefa is the only player who has been arrested/charged, the other guy is a non-football playing friend of his

A quick question.... why is it that as soon as ANY nrl player gets charged or is in trouble with the law they automatically are referred to as a "Star"??
