I can only go on the live-updates from NRL.com, but it sounded like an enjoyable game. Klemmer led the charge for Australia and the guidance of Clifford, Cherry-Evans and Hunt proved too daunting. Australia raced to a 30-6 lead, but the PNG's perseverance paid off and they were able to peg Australia back at 30-18. Then Mead made a mistake which allowed Townsend to score and effectively end the game for the Australians.

The game was streamed for the first time, albeit from Peter Beattie's phone so the quality was incredibly questionable.

The game also had to be held up for 10 minutes as fans invaded the pitch. Supposedly the fans feared a nearby light tower was going to collapse on them and did whatever they could to get away from it.

Another impressive showing from Clifford. Jake has matured into one of the most promising players in Rugby League these past two years and in these representative games has managed to turn a lot of heads. He's got big shoes to fill at the Cowboys, but with some time and patience, they may have just found the heir apparent.
