Received this 2 days ago:

i5 9600K 3.7Ghz
Gigabyte Gaming OC RTX2080ti
Corsair 16GB DDR4 3000Mhz
MSI B360M Gaming Plus Motherboard
CoolerMaster 240LR Water cooler
512GB M.2 Intel SSD (O.S)
1TB Samsung SSD
750w Thermaltake PSU
CoolerMaster MB520 case

After sorting out the labor pains, she runs like a dream. AssCreed: Odyssey, BFV with raytracing turned on and Total Warhammer 2 all @ 1440p run flawlessly at pretty modest temps for the CPU and GPU. It feels like my best Pokemon just evolved into a Cthulhu monster.

I could have sworn there were at least 2 other members that got new systems recently....must be shy.

I have a reputation to uphold. I can't be seen spending money frivolously.

Well now everyone knows that you're one of them so you might as well. Besides, your purchases were not frivolous...you struck at exactly the right time. Shit monitor though.

Monitor would be great if it didn't arrive to me damaged.

* SSD - Crucial 480gb: $78
* CPU - Ryzen 5 2600: $199
* MB - Asus B450M-K: $115
* RAM - Corsair 16gb: $139
* GPU - 1660ti: $388
* Case - inc PSU & Fan: $99
* Monitor - Samsung 27" 1440p 144hz: $429
* (HDD taken from old system)
TOTAL: $1447.

On Apex, getting 120 - 144fps @1440p, medium quality settings.
On PUBG, ~75fps @1440p Ultra quality, ~105fps Medium quality, ~125fps @1080p Medium.

Not bad for what is essentially a budget build. Big thanks to a certain 3 guys who helped recommend, source, price, and talk me through all the bugs of building a rig from scratch.

Someone recommend a motherboard and ram to me please.

I'm getting a Ryzen 3700x. I'll continue using my 1060 graphics card for now.
With ram, I'm thinking the Corsair 3200Ghz one. It's got better latency than the 3600, so I'm assuming if it's possible to overclock it a bit, it'll be considerably better?

With the motherboard, I've got NFI. Mini, Micro, I've got no clue. Which one isn't too pricey and will got well with that CPU? I might overclock it in the future.

Myself and Kimlo Kimlo run a Gigabyte Aorus X570 Pro WiFi. Harry Sack Harry Sack is on a MSI Carbon Pro WiFi. I'd go the GB, because they have better community engagement on Reddit, and get BIOS updates out the door a bit quicker.

Running Ripjaws 3200 C14. I think Kimlo had some luck getting a bit more out of the sticks, but it's really not that much.

Edit: We're all on the 3700X too.

Rock solid over here on my MSI, no issues at all. I think Gigabyte and ASrock are bringing out the good x570's atm though, so would likely go with one of them.

Decide what features are a must have wifi/bluetooth/number of usb ports, and then narrow a list from there. I'd personally buy Gigabyte anything as far as X570 go, their stuff is really good.

X570 is a flagship motherboard as it is so anything in that range is going to be decent. B450 is where the budget levels motherboards are for Ryzen, nothing wrong saving a buck there and getting a better GPU but I personally am looking to upgrade to a 16 core Ryzen 9 either this generation, or next when they're a year old and prices tank. Going from 8->16 core is an awesome upgrade path to have without needing a new motherboard and the B450 boards won't support above 8 cores IIRC.

Really hoping Ryzen 4th gen is keeping the same socket, who knows maybe even Ryzen 5th gen, then I'll be sorted for years to come.
