good on the boys. i am a bit disappointed about the consolation goal to Qatar in the 90th minute, it would have been nice to keep a clean sheet.

Top two sides from all the groups form two groups of five. Top two teams from those groups directly qualify and the two third placed teams have a home and away play off to see who gets the 5th spot (this is my understanding anyway). Thankfully no need to play any south american teams, who are by no means lame.

You'd have to think Australia was comfortably in the top 5 Asian nations wouldn't you? Iran, Iraq and Japan would be the biggest threats, right?

its still going to be difficult, Japan, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Uzbekistan & Iraq can definetly match it with us or even are a better side than us, and this isnt helped by the fact that we really do struggle in away games.
