What does everyone think we will lineup like?

Will Clinton force his way back into the team or will Ivan stick with the same guys?

I think I'd like to see a genuine prop in Clinton on the bench but whom to make way for I don't know, I definitely don't want to see Alex Glenn go into the hooker role like he did on the weekend again. I'd rather McCullough at hooker for the 80 mins and Glenn to provide good spark as a running backrower.

Bit of a cliche - but it is a nice headache to have at this time of the year, thats for sure!

Re: Rd 26, Broncos vs Raiders - Build up thread

Yeah, pretty much the same as mine. I went for Carroll over Setu simply because he has experience and a level head - and probably offers a little more defensively.

Hard to drop Setu though - but I think we missed Clinton has to be there IMO.

Re: Rd 26, Broncos vs Raiders - Build up thread

Just hope we don't try to use Glenn as a replacement hooker unless necessary (if McCullough is injured or genuinely tired). McCullough has shown he can play the 80, and Glenn seems a bit wasted there in attack.

Re: Rd 26, Broncos vs Raiders - Build up thread

Yeh Clinton's gotta be there no arguments. I just still think Carroll's contribution while we were down on troops was valuable, but most of the young forwards are going just as good, if not better than him and they are more suited to the pace of today's game.

TC is a legend no doubt, but it's like Kevin Walters's stint in 2001 (before he got injured) - come back to help out but when the troops are back on deck, he is no longer needed.

Re: Rd 26, Broncos vs Raiders - Build up thread

Yeah, fair call.

Can we just play 18 this week? As Beale already said, it's a welcome selection headache. The fact that it is happening so close to the finals is a good thing.

Re: Rd 26, Broncos vs Raiders - Build up thread

I'm hoping Folau's poor performance was a one off and he plays a great game this week. I hope it's the same side but really I think TC should be dropped for Clinton.

I agree.

Carroll's done his job. We now need a settled team with players who can play more than 40 minutes against teams which will be in our face for the full 80.

I think Henjak might of done that because of the amount of defencive work McCullough was doing in that game. Glenn only played hooker for 10 mins giving McCullough a quick rest and IMO Glenn looked pretty good in those 10 mins. McCullough finished the game with 44 tackles and didn't even play the entire game so I can understand why he got rested.

We had massive issues with winning when Henjack kept changing the team everyweek. People whinged and moaned about it. Now we want to change the team again, in a game that can determin where we finish on the ladder from 4 - 8, and then into the finals?

No one else sees a problem with that?

Clinton is a very valuable player though and is needed in the team though IMO.

Re: Rd 26, Broncos vs Raiders - Build up thread

Well drop McGuire, stick TC on the bench.

McGuire was already dropped last week, you can't drop a player that was not in the team [icon_razz1

Re: Rd 26, Broncos vs Raiders - Build up thread

Sadly Setu will be the one that drops off the bench. Tunza isn't playing bad and came in and did the team a favour I don't think it is the right thing to do if we drop him.

I just hope he comes back in minus the handling errors. We need his go forward for sure but his butterfingers we can do without [eusa_doh

Re: Rd 26, Broncos vs Raiders - Build up thread

People People People, Why does Carroll have to play 50 + mins???

Setu and Sims play roughly 30 each week, likewise Carroll. Carroll has the experienced head, one of the best defenders in the game, locky feels safe around him, reliable as ever and will never drop a ball plus still has the pain of last years loss to melbourne in his belly. Carroll should not and will not be dropped!!!

I can't believe so many people are saying he should be dropped, its a disgrace
