CAPTAIN two weeks ago, Adam Blair has been benched by Wayne Bennett and he won’t be the last player demoted if Brisbane’s form continues.

If Brisbane’s backline fails to fire against the Raiders this week a reshuffle could occur, with the clash between Raiders brute BJ Leilua and Bronco Jack Reed critical.
Jordan Kahu could be shifted to left centre in coming weeks to get him more involved as he has consistently been Brisbane’s best outside back this season alongside Corey Oates.

Jack Reed should be worried if he doesn’t perform against the Raiders.Bennett has shown no player is safe. He has promoted Sam Thaiday and benched Blair while 20-year-old Tevita Pangai Jr replaces Joe Ofahengaue.
Brisbane’s backline must fire against Canberra to keep their positions. While Brisbane have lost four of their past five games, they still have great depth.
Brisbane will fancy Reed’s chances against Leilua while Canberra believe they can expose Reed.
Leilua has been in great form for the Raiders in attack but is still erratic defensively, presenting opportunities for Reed and his winger Oates.
Like many Broncos, Reed has been below his best in recent weeks and was poor against the Warriors making three errors.
Kahu is considered a long-term centre at Brisbane and another loss could prompt the reshuffle.

Welp, Bennett has seen enough it seems. Put up or gtfo. And thank **** for that. Having by far the slowest centre in the comp combining with the fastest has been pretty embarrassing for a while.

Mate the article has already been posted...

I'll believe it when i see the team sheet without 3. Jack Reed, listed

I'll back Reed and the rest of the team to get back into form. Who else do we have? Is the grass greener? Be careful what you wish for.

It looks as if Reed has been struggling with that shoulder injury all-season. In typical Reed fashion, he put his club before his health, rushed straight back in and tried to play the same physical style of footy. Unfortunately for him, his body has let him down on several occasions and he's had to come off the field more times than I can remember in recent seasons.

Hopefully he gets the message and improves.

in the case of Jack Reed, yes the grass is always greener.

Kahu would be a quality replacement for Reed... while his defence hasn't been brilliant in the centers, that can be put down to him rarely playing the position. he'll just need a few games under his belt to start to get his timing right. besides, IMO, Reed isn't a crash hot defender anyway.

as for wing we have several options who i would like to see get a shot in the top grade such as Seve or Anderson

hasn't he been struggling with that same shoulder injury for 2 or 3 years now ...

and if the shoulder is the reason for his poor form over the last few years, then IMO, he isn't putting his club first by playing, he is doing more harm than good.

and if getting his shoulder right means he gets back to his 2011/2012 form ... the he needs to put the club first and sit out until the shoulder is 100% again

My question would be, who comes in on the right wing if Kahu shifts to left centre? Surely we aren't going to put our eggs in the Maranta or Eden basket.. Let's at least give a young gun first crack.. Anderson, Seve, Opacic, Isaako, anyone but those 2 guys.

Maranta/Eden are definitely a sidegrade/downgrade, even on someone like Reed. One of the rookies would be good.

Foordy - I'm unsure how long he's had the injury for, I don't believe it's been that long term. In fact, I believe he picked it up during the grand final where he dislocated it not once but twice yet stayed on the field for the club.

2013, IIRC.

Then he did it again in the Storm game in 2014.

Not sure which shoulder that was but I know he has had problems with both.

Edit: Actually, it was 2012. He got off-season surgery.

the problem is that seve hasnt done much playing cup, isaako was horrible when he played cup and anderson isnt much chop. im thinking maybe opacic to the wing for mine and kahu into the centres. but im not sold on opacic either. our outside back depth is pretty horrible to be honest.

If Reed gets dropped you'll probably get Maranta on the wing. It's not good no matter what Bennett does.

Jonus Pearson looks like he could be quality option. I have had a look of his highlights in the Q Cup and he has scored some nice tries, has good speed, size and strength.

Talanoa, I don't think you're giving Anderson the credit he deserves but nevertheless you're entitled. Maranta's recent efforts have been ordinary but he has a history of fighting back. We certainly could do with Radarlove playing for us !
