Reed in the firing line

Talanoa, I don't think you're giving Anderson the credit he deserves but nevertheless you're entitled. Maranta's recent efforts have been ordinary but he has a history of fighting back. We certainly could do with Radarlove playing for us !

fair call, but im not a fan of anderson and i dont rate him a first grade option.
i reckon wayne will go shopping at the end of the year.

Yeah but reed will now have a blinder this week and will get his contract extended too only to play shit again next week. Sigh

I'll back Reed and the rest of the team to get back into form. Who else do we have? Is the grass greener? Be careful what you wish for.

Kahu / Opacic to left centre, Kahu / Maranta / Seve / Anderson for the right wing, while we have a good look at our options including (HOMG!) actually buying a player...

Reed is welcome to go back to Qld Cup or (more likely, IMHO) head off to the Super League.

If he really is on thin ice, then one good performance will only prolong his career for a few more weeks, not give him a free pass for another year.

Yeah but this is what generally happens, he gets in the firing line, plays a blinder and then goes back to average when he knows he is safe again.

Sproj, that's NRL Contract Management 101. Most players "miraculously" perform well around renewal time.

the problem is that seve hasnt done much playing cup, isaako was horrible when he played cup and anderson isnt much chop. im thinking maybe opacic to the wing for mine and kahu into the centres. but im not sold on opacic either. our outside back depth is pretty horrible to be honest.

I think Tom would do well on the wing. He is a good finisher but he isnt really fast enough to play there long term, and i know the club see him as a center. Dont think he would let us down, he is pretty solid and doesnt make many mistakes. I would like to see him at right center and roberts to left center seeing as thats where our attack strength is. We need Roberts to become a bigger threat.

I think its time people give up on Anderson playing wing for us. He is well and truly behind in the pecking line.

I was pissed off when they chose Reed over Copley. Copley had so much more upside potential. He's younger, faster, bigger and finishes off tries. The only downside to Copley was that he's more prone to injury.

Who let Michael Morgan into the try line during last years finals? Jack bloody Reed.

That's not fair. Reed had him covered. Oates left his winger unmarked - and you can't blame Oates really, because he knew Reed was playing with a busted shoulder. Reed cops it for his attack which is mostly fair. He cops it for his defence which is not.

But I also wanted Copley over Reed. It just wasn't as easy as that.

Reed is out this week. Kahu to centres, eden to wing.

Missed training apparently. I wonder if it was forced, or if his shoulder is fucked again.

I'd much prefer Reed in the team over Eden.

From Peter Badel

Update on jack reed. He has been sent for scans on yet another shoulder injury. Reed has had four shoulder ops, could be gone for a while

I was hoping that Bennett had seen the light and dumped him... I didn't wish an injury on him...

that being said, if he is out for a while, this is Kahu's chance to make it impossible for Reed to get that center position back

No, it's whomever plays wing that needs to do that!

I reckon that's it for Jack... He's off for another surgery which means rehab and light duties... If Kahu can make this spot he's own now, Reed will have to fight to get his spot back and I just can't see it happening with the good form Kahu has been in... I'd say that's all she wrote.

So Oates. Well job done then, I guess we will need to leave it up to Kahu... as suggested.. ;-)

I think Porth was referring to the right wing position. If Eden or one of the young guys can make that position their own, there'll be no need to rush Reed back in to get JK back on that right side.
