1. Josh Dugan
2. Michael Gordon
3. Jamie Lyon
4. Shaun Kenny-Dowall
5. Akuila Uate
6. Todd Carney
7. Scott Prince
8. David Shillington
9. Issac Luke
10. Petero Civoniceiva
11. Sam Burgess
12. Sam Thaiday
13. Paul Gallen

14. Mark Minichiello
15. Luke Lewis
16. Kurt Gidley
17. Michael Weyman
----------------------------------------------------

I really don't even know...

Actually I do.

Shaun Kenny-Dowall > Israel Folau? Oh WTF.

Wait, it's not even SKD and Lyon > Folau it's...

Greg Inglis, Beau Scott, Chris Lawrence and Michael Jennings over Israel Folau.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

FULLBACK - Josh Dugan: This guy is a freakish talent and is only going to get better and better. I gave him the nod ahead of Boyd and Storm fullback Billy Slater.

WINGERS - Michael Gordon, Akuila Uate: Both have had outstanding seasons and I’ve given them the nod ahead of the Tigers’ Lote Tuqiri, the Titans’ Kevin Gordon and the Warriors’ Manu Vatuvei.

CENTRES - Jamie Lyon, Shaun Kenny-Dowall: You can always make a case for Greg Inglis, Scott, Michael Jennings and Chris Lawrence but Lyon and SKD have been outstanding.

FIVE-EIGHTH - Todd Carney: He’s been the standout player in the competition and is my choice to win the Dally M award.

HALFBACK - Scott Prince: Gets the nod in a photo finish from Mitchell Pearce. Cooper Cronk has also had a great year at Melbourne Storm and special mention to Penrith’s Luke Walsh for his outstanding kicking game in attacking positions.

LOCK - Paul Gallen: Gets a start on statistics alone. No player in the competition has a work rate anything like the inspirational Sharks forward. Beat Luke Lewis for the 13 jersey.

SECOND-ROW - Sam Burgess, Sam Thaiday: Both have been nothing short of outstanding in the Souths and Broncos packs. Liam Fulton and Gareth Ellis have been outstanding at the Tigers, too.

PROPS - David Shillington, Petero Civoniceva: Shillington has, in my opinion, been the best prop in the competition and the old Penrith warhorse just turns up every week. Special mentions for Kade Snowden from the Sharks and the Cowboys’ Matthew Scott.

HOOKER - Issac Luke: Now this guy is an unbelievably good talent and I gave him the nod ahead of Cameron Smith and Robbie Farah. Jake Friend has also had a great year at the Roosters.

The guy has no idea, like the rest of his newspaper, he's in the Rebecca Witchson, Danny Wankler and Paul K.u.nt class.

Boyd will go very close to winning the Dally M if not win it, his first 3/4 of the season were just about perfect and he was at the heart of everything great the Dragons did. This journalist obviously only remembers the last 5 or 6 rounds if he really thinks Dugan had a better year than him.

Mark Minichello has the worst hands in the NRL. How he got a jumper is beyond me.

At least he got the Second Row right. That backfield is stupid.

Distinct tinge of Blue in that side.

1. Slater
2. Michael Gordon
3. Inglis
4. Folau
5. Akuila Uate
6. Lockyer
7. Thurston
8. David Shillington
9. Smith
10. Petero Civoniceiva
11. Sam Burgess
12. Sam Thaiday
13. Bird

14. Luke Lewis
15. Dave Taylor
16. Matthew Scott
17. Horo

If you're picking a team, at least get the 1, 6, 7 n 9 right. A proven combination which works rules rather than cobbling some combo together based on presumed individual ability in isolation of what counts: team work.

It's a team of the year not a rep team.

^^^ This. It's the best performed 17 individuals. Not the best team.

But ROFLfield failed in picking the best 17 individuals too.

His blogs are always controversial to attract hits, no surprises there really...

SKD? FFS! [eusa_naugh

Yep. Then he claims to be one of Australia's most popular RL journalists. Newsflash ROFLfield: people aren't visiting your blog because they like you, they're visiting it to give you a serve over the ridiculous shit you write. Read your own comments section, you dropkick.

That is, the comments he actually publishes. The ones that categorically prove him wrong he never lets through the gate! [icon_lol1.

I'm flat out working my way up the ranks so I too can be a sports editor of a major newspaper. A life of not researching my articles, writing whatever I want without thinking about objectivity, then spending the day screening my blog comments sounds pretty cruisy.
Not as keen on journalistically fellating Paul Gallen every week.

Prince has been ordinary for the majority of the season how can he be in team of the year??
