Round 16 - Rabbitohs vs Broncos - Post Match Discussion

that is the worst i've seen lockyer play in years. had it been anyone else they would've been hooked after running the ball on the last well before the last one occurred.

and games that are lotteries like that are better viewed when it doesn't involve your team.

Disappointing loss. At least we didn't completely collapse after that horror start.

No real standout performances. As mentioned above though.. Lockyer.. terrible.

I'm pleased I wasn't the only one that thought that, something like 5 times we got caught with the ball on the last tackle. We had 50 chances to win that game and one would have thought that the experience of Lockyer would have seen us through, but no. Our attack this year is just woeful. South's played well in defence but we had so much ball on their line with reward makes me reconsider our premiership aspirations.

Woohoo. That was bloody hard to watch with the last 15 mins not getting any favours from the refs and making mistakes. Probably the best defence I have seen Souths put out this season and so much better with such terrible conditions. Though Broncos were no way near their level of usual play again due to the conditions. Either way it is 2 points that we need and we will take it.

I didn't think Lockyer was THAT bad, took a couple of good options, etc. but yeah definitely one of his worst games. He didn't adapt to the conditions at all.

Ross MotM? Really? Eh.

The conditions were down right disgraceful and I was just thankful the boys got through it without any major injury concerns. Meanwhile Souths put together their best performance of the season really.

Broncs blew that, my under 12s oval had better drainage than that pitch. That 2nd Bunnies try was freak, looked like he had put way too much on it.

Did anyone else think Issac Luke's no try was a try? I thought he slid and hit the line after originally being short before Wesser comes in with the second motion. Yet they never show the angle a second time and go to refs call.

Asking the wrong crowd Twiz, I thought a few angles showed he was short by at least a few cms or so.

Should have been a penalty for the second effort by Wesser. But not about to complain about the refs, we benefitted more from their whistle.

Possibly the worst game I've ever seen. It was just so dour.

South's forwards pretty much dominated us all night. Thaiday was probably our best player.

Lockyer and Wallace had a shocker. I'm not sure how we managed to score two tries, because we looked completely inept every time we ventured into the opposition's half.

I know the conditions were terrible, but Copley man...learn to hold onto the ball, bro!

I'm not going to read too much into tonight's performance because of the predicament the weather created. It completely ruined the game, and I honestly struggle to see how an NRL match can be played at a ground with such pathetic drainage.

I am actually so disappointed in that loss tonight.
We looked absolutely poor in that opening stanza, letting them in with two tries, FFS!
I know the conditions were horrendous, but FFS, hold onto the ball Copley!
Souths weren't dropping as much ball as we did.

I guess the positive that can be taken out of tonight is we kept them tryless in the 2nd half, but those 2 tries in the opening 7 minutes cost us big time. FFS.

Souths were up for it, we didn't look too good tonight.

Our attack....FFS. What's up with those 5th tackle options?

The issue with our 5th tackle plays stemmed with the weather, players couldn't keep their feet or get a good handle of the ball to throw the appropriate passes.

Souths defence was also very gutsy tonight. Technically not great or anything but came up with the big tackles when they had to.

The Broncos have done every team souths play from now on a huge favor, We gave Souths there one good win for the season. Now everyone else know they have it in the bag when they face souths.

I doubt it. No matter how much you hate us and think we are easy beats. No team in this competition can show up with that attitude against any team or they could very much lose.

The Broncos might have lost, but good signs for QLD. Inglis was God-like in defence and Taylor was as dangerous as ever. Hodges finished the game and looked dangerous for the most part, so should get the nod ahead of Nielsen unless he has a blinder this weekend.

Our forwards were dominated well and truly by the Rabbits who seemed to want 'it' more than us.

I know there are a lot of Baptise fans on this forum and although he scored a try, I have to say we looked better out of dummy half when Glenn was in the role.

Again, I thought Glenn was our best player with Thaiday not far behind. Hoffman was one of our only backs that looked like making an impact. Good game.

That'll do me.

Last week we were a genuine threat to win the Premiership, and one week later after a game in absolutely atrocious conditions, we're no hope anymore. One of your best Burg.

Disappointed that we lost, we should've won but I have no doubt had that game been played in that weather at ANZ or Suncorp we would've beaten them quite comfortably. It's a shame we didn't get the win, but that's all that's to be taken out of that match.

Thaiday clearly our best. Parker good as well and was happy with Anderson after his bad start to the game. Wallace was good in 80 metres of the field, but was ordinary inside their 20m.

No doubt you see that the only reason they lost was because of the weather, fair enough I stand corrected. I don't recall saying after last week that we were "a genuine threat to win the Premiership" but there you go must have been the "other me".
