We'll be missing a few, and they won't have Carney or Gallen. Could be an interesting one.

If I was in charge of selecting the Queensland side the Broncos would look like...

1. Josh Hoffman
2. Lachlan Maranta
3. Jack Reed
4. Gerard Beale
5. Dale Copley
6. Corey Norman
7. Peter Wallace
8. Josh McGuire
9. Andrew McCullough
10. Scott Anderson
11. Alex Glenn
12. Ben Te'o
13. Matt Gillett

14. Ben Hunt
15. Jarrod Wallace
16. Mitchell Dodds
17. Nick Slyney

In reality though, I expect Lui & Gibb to be there ahead of J. Wallace & Slyney and I reckon Parker will probably play for us.

I liked the baby Broncos against the Roosters so not completely concerned but Sharks without Carney and Gallen are still a talented side.

I'd call them a very disciplined and hard working side, but without those 2 players, I wouldn't call them talented in the least...

Being talentless must be the key to beating Melbourne I suppose...

Pretty confident about this game.

Talent will help, but yeah. Hard work and discipline definitely is the way to beat Melbourne!

You cant tell me Isaac De Gois, Jeff Robson, Wade Graham, Jayson Bakuya, John Morris, Chad Townsend and Jeremy Smith aren't talented players.

I think we greatly differ in our definition of talent, because none of those players is talented.
Don't get me wrong though, Wade Graham, Jayson Bukuya and Jeremy Smith are really handy players to have in your roster. The rest... Meh.

FTR, my definition of talent is more the likes of Lockyer, GI, Hodgo, Cam Smith, DCE, Yow Yeh, Thurston, Prince, Marshall, or young players who show talent and will only get better, such as Norman, Josh McGuire, Gillett or Hoffman for example.
I think the only really talented players the Sharks have, are Carney and Gallen.

Having said that, this might look like I'm having a go at them, but the Sharks and Flanagan really deserve big wraps for their performance this season imo!

Well yeah, I should have said they are still a good side Without Gallen and Carney. As Compund Fracture said they've beaten Storm without Gallen, the same goes against the Warriors.

Cronulla are a very disciplined side with a strong defense and structural set-up. They do the simple things very well -- against a largely inexperienced team like ours they could definitely beat us.

That said, Porthoz is still correct in that they are not an overly talented side. You'll see that come finals time.

Essentially I agree with what Porthoz is saying. I believe the losses of Carney & Gallen has a big effect on the Sharks but I wouldn't underestimate a player as good as Jeremy Smith. He lead them to victory against the Storm, not Carney.

They've got some handy players, I like their front row formation, Bukuya & Graham are both good prospects but plenty of ordinary players who need quality players to guide them.

should be a good game this one. a good test again for both sides, and the two points for us here will be VERY handy coming into the bye.

if we keep with the effort we have been over the past few weeks, the win should come our way.

Cronulla are the greatest side in the history of rugby league and the broncos shouldn't even turn up.

There, now I won't get attacked by a certain poster this week.

When they played without Carney and Gallen before Origin 1, Canterbury whacked them by 26-6. Before Origin 2 they beat the Gold Coast 22-12. We should start as favourites as Cronulla failed to beat a top placed side without their 2 custodians, Will be a hard game for the young guns still.

The Broncos spine will definitely need to step up after that previous disappointing performance.
