Apart from last week it actually feels like ages since we scored from a cross field bomb?

It’s been a while, but I think it’s symptomatic of the league in general with the escort/running chasers off the ball and how inconsistently it’s reffed. Also the 7 tackle set which needs rectifying

If the defending team takes the ball out in goal it should be a drop out and 7 tackles to the attacking team. Seems more fair that way

no they should just tweak the rule and use it for what it was intended which was kickers booting the ball dead deliberately from 40+ meters out to counter the fullbacks returning the ball. Teams shouldn't be punished for trying to force dropouts or going for field goals, simples.

They shouldn’t be punished for it anyway. Stupid rule along with 2 refs.

Or worse getting punished for dropping the ball in goal. No way in hell should the opposition get rewarded because their opponent fucked up a try scoring situation.

What makes it worse I think it was last week (could've been warriors) the winger dropped a cross field bomb forward and it bounced in field but then rolled out in goal.

So instead of conceding a scrum ten out for a knock on the opposition got a 7 tackle set at the 20.

I think it should just be errors off kicks get rewarded with 7 tackle sets not knock ons. I'm happy for grubbers inside the 20m to be punished because that is risk vs reward.

We conceded 3x 7 tackle sets to the titans because they couldn't clean up kicks (Shiba after Copley fucked up and TPJ after Brimson and co fucked up) with the third being Staggs dropping over the line looking to put the ball down. All 3 situations were Broncos going for tries

And then if an acrobatic winger does win a contest for the ball, they get the try taken off them for knock ons ala Coates. An aerial try is a disappearing art thanks to the NRL.

Yeah it needs changing, to punish a team on the attack like that is just rubbish. Typical nrl though so can’t see anything changing.

Captain hindsight over here....

Releasing Niko was part of easing salary cap pressure which has now allowed us to resign most of our current squad as well as making a couple of handy signings to depth players.

Also re moving Milf to FB. Seibold said in a media interview a few weeks back that it was a move that he was waiting to do over the pre season for 2020 but with the emergence of Dearden and SoS and how well they were playing along with our season not exactly being a brilliant one. It was a good chance to experiment with the team. Obviously more injuries have now put a dampener on it but I still see no issue with this at all.

Anyone can look back across all player transfers this year and make judgement on them being not the best but at the time they were.
I can't see why Broncos supporters cant just get behind our team, we are looking super promising and the new guys that are putting on the Broncos jersey are doing our club proud. Yea we may not win the premiership this year but I am happy with the direction we are going and I'm happy with the decisions and conversations that it appears Seibold is having.

Plus there's still a chance for us to make the 8 this year. Lets keep pushing!
Yep not wrong.
I have no doubt if Wayneoooooo was still here Niko would still be in the 7, Boyd at 1 and we wouldn't have seen the likes of Dearden or Turpin.
I think the future is looking very promising, Seibs is now really starting to stamp his authority - the exact reason the board wanted him at the club. I'm not convinced we would be in the 8 with Wayneooooooo's team plodding along anyway..
No player we have wanted to keep has left, and that a great sign.
We would have just been another year or two behind rebuilding..the rebuild was always going to happen, it was just a matter of when.

Agree, I don't get that at all. If you knock the ball on and then the opposition kicks it forward in to one of their own off-side players, the first infringement is ruled on, no advantage, so the first knock-on is what counts. I don't know why that doesn't apply elsewhere.

This was one of the things I wanted to mention from last week but didn't get around to because I have been too busy and forgot.

I was REALLY impressed with Sieb's coaching in game last week. Earlier in the year, I was as frustrated as anyone else but he made some excellent choices on the fly and I think that hasn't been acknowledged as much as it should have been.

He had the guts to choose a rookie halfback and seemingly told him just to play straight and take control. SOS responded brilliantly, he was barking instructions fantastically until he went off. Turps knew his role and that was clear.

I thought his response to injury and circumstances was the highlight though. The Broncs lose the halfback, so he puts Macca in there as the experienced head and bought Segs on. The Coates/Shiba side was like Swiss cheese, so he sent Staggs that side and put Glenn on Staggs side where he is more comfortable.

He also sensed the moments and when the Broncs started struggling, he put his best forwards back at there. He also seemed to tell TPJ to just play more freely.

I really liked his coaching last week.

This sort of dribble sounds like you're trying to convince yourself and everyone else that it was always seibolds plan for this , if you look back seibold said himself the club has a plan of what they want. Obviously seibold is having input in the latest signings but the club pointed him in a direction, and to say Bennett wouldn't have changed anything is just you haters directing blame at him . You wouldn't have a clue what Wayne would have done.

A defending team that catches the ball in their own in goal area and gets a 20M start is a good rule. Other wise every attacking set of 6 will end up as a bomb.

It just needs to be tweaked not to punish knock ons in the ingoal area.

Exactly that’s all it needs to be, knock on from an attacking player in goal 10m scrum.

Unfortunately nothing will happen with it because the media haven't flagged it as an issue.

It won't get on the agenda until a knock on in goal leads to a 7 tackle set and a try to win the GF... and even then it would have to be one of their darling teams that lose

Well if that’s what needs to happen let it happen to the roosters :kimlo:
