POST GAME Round 19 - Broncos vs Tigers

That 3rd quarter put a bit of a sour taste in my mouth. Could have been a perfect afternoon otherwise.
 
We have got to stop clocking off for these 10-15 minute periods against bottom four teams.

They have nothing to lose so they just throw it around and make us look stupid.

Honourable mentions to Parker & Glenn who probably would've been in the top 3 if they didn't both have 2 soft errors each.
 
Despite letting in 16 points after the break we eventually regathered and put on 16 of our own. Bennett will (and should) be furious with that 2nd half effort so hopefully we learn a thing or two and just keep focusing on our top 4 finish.

Corey Oates needs more game time....he doesn't let anyone down! Love watching him play, some of those hit-ups were unreal. Must be in the backline when Hodgo retires.
 
Oates is capable of that impact because he comes on fresh when everyone is tired. Sure, he is fantastic but I would have to say that Bennett clearly thinks he is best used in that respect. Besides, it is working and Oates is probably happy with what he gets to be honest. I don't see him pushing out anyone YET. But watch out Alex Glenn
 
Aside from learning not to clock off, we seriously need to re-visit our defensive structure of "come to us". It is dumb giving the opposition free metres, time to set plays and momentum. Do that against a class side and we get smashed.
 
'Come to us method' as we are calling it is what is giving us the endurance this deep in the season. Might see a different style of play when finals roll around, but I think it is working and will probably continue to work until finals. Our defensive lapses seem to me to be coming only from someone jumping out of the line.
 
Hate these sort of games when you're heavily backed to win, it adds nothing but a lot of pressure I think. We always take the foot off the peddle too, I'd rather watch these sort of games knowing the result after the game.
 
p.s - Why did Kahu come off for Oates? Did he get injured, I didn't see it.

Undecided on third best, but I'm leading towards Blair or Hunt. I'll have to watch the replay when I get home.

He did have a cork problem. Perhaps that's why.

He was jogging on the sidelines when he came off so I'm guessing it was just a precaution.
 
Nice win. I expected us to play some shitty minutes after the rep guys rested all week. However I can never complain when we got over 40 points.
 
We give away the least amount of penalties and I think it's because of that.
