Brisbane Broncos 22 (McGuire, Oates, Hoffman, Reed tries; Prince 3/4 goals) def. Parramatta Eels 12

A win is a win.

Yeah it was an ugly win and against a better opponent I reckon we were in real trouble, Hoffman, Reed and McCullough were our best IMO, both Reed and Hoffman saved a lot of potential problems and Hoffman stepped up more in attack, also think Prince is starting to hit form in his last two games, running the ball more. Hunt was disappointing but it was probably coming, lets see how he goes against the Panthers.

Hoffman was excellent, and Parker, McGuire, Reed and McCullough were great too.

Hunt was terrible, except for that one pass. Disappointing.

Wallace was 'aight, but it's almost like he just seems to slow down everyone else around him.

Worst game I've seen from Hunt since he's been starting. Still a decent win, we'll need to play so much better next week to beat Penrith.

3 - Hoffman
2 - Hannant
1 - McCullough

I've fair dinkum put the mocker on Hunt. He was bad. Didn't look like he even turned up. Did a couple good things, but mostly had one I think he'd rather forget. Hoffman was unreal. Macca, great. I'll post more thoughts tomorrow.

Oooh, according to NRL stats, Gillett has missed 0 tackles! Pretty impressive when everyone else seemed to be dropping off most of the time.

He's still leading the comp in them by a fair margin though.

Forgot to mention Prince, I thought he was great. Took control of the side and actually tried to be creative.

I think Hook hooked Hunt towards the end and put Wallace on. If he starts Wallace next week at Halfback I will lose my shit.

It's been a tough month for the boys and I think we saw the results of that tonight. Brisbane were flat from the opening set but still too classy for Parra. I thought when the game was in the balance, players like Hannant, Reed and Hoffman came up with the big plays and that was enough tonight. We're going to have to improve but the important aspect of tonight's game was the scoreboard.

Any word on Ben Hunt?

McGuire looks like he's done his calf again, not sure, but that is poor management if he has. That is a fatigue injury and we had a fresh reserve sitting there all night, once again **** bench rotation.

Yeah, it was a horrific use of the bench as always. JWallace came on with 5 minutes to go? Tasi came on for about 15 minutes, what a great buy he's been.

Can't wait for Dodds to be back, at least Griffin actually seems to use him.

Towards the end of the game it looked like he took a hit to the nuts I think.

Saw hunt favouring his left arm or holding his stomach before wallace got shuffled. Pray to god wallace isnt the 7 for the next couple games

i can't understand hook. when we are start getting on top, and macca's starting to take advantage of tired markers hook benches macca and the pressure is relieved. wallace comes on and we start to play slow grinding football which allows the opposition to seize back momentum. does cam smith get benched after making a good run from dummy half? it's just such a bizarre game plan hook has. we easily would have lost that game if not for hoffman. but hey, a win's a win now so good effort guys.

I'm really happy with the win. We could complain about the obvious problems and that it was against the eels but at the end of the day when your playing with a backline that features Stagg at centre you have to be happy with a comfortable win IMHO. Macca was great, Hoffman was immense

I know it's Parramatta, but..

Hoffman with an individual try and saved about 3. Fucking outstanding.

Mcguire/Hannant - absolute blinders

McCullough - Dangerous

Reed - solid as ****

Thought Kahu had a great return from injury, awesome under the high ball. Hunt will want to forget that game real quickly.

It hurts seeing Hayne play for Parra. Imagine how good he would be in a half decent side. Would be equal to Inglis IMO.

That game made me realize how big the gulf is between the top couple of referees and the bottom group. Those two had no feel for the game at all. At one point there were 12 penalties after 48 minutes, i.e. about one every four minutes. Made it very hard to enjoy it, especially the second half.
