Good to get the win.

Similar to our loss to Melbourne, I feel most of the game was closer than the final score suggested.
Mostly thanks to the refs..

Important win that goes a long way to sealing our top 4 spot, just need manly to drop a game now.

Very good win, against a desperate Cowboys, that were kept in it by the refs, who pretty much offered them 2 tries. A great Bowen kept us honest too.

Hoffman deservedly MOM in a game where our halves were below par, which can only mean we can go another gear in the next 6 games, and send Locky out as he deserves. I believe! Do you?

Thaiday, McGuire, Parker, Gillett and Te'o with very good efforts up front. Pity to see Gillett do so much front row work. Macca probably the best forward of the night, with a beauty of an assist for Hoffman. Glenn is clearly suffering from the returns of Gillett and Te'o, while Anderson still put in with reduced minutes and Hala gets a few minutes to gain experience.

Despite a few nervous moments and a real bad read on Bowen, Reed was good, Beale very solid, Copley still a bit raw, but Hodges was by far the best back after Hoffman. It's yoghurt factory night at Spwn's house!

McGuire and Thaiday unlucky...

3- Hoffman
2- Macca
1- Parker

Hodgeeessssss <3 When ever he's on the field he's one our best, consistently awesome.
If he's fit and firing he will play a big role in us getting a premiership just like he did in 06. He really looked like he was getting back to his best tonight, he looked sharp in every run and full of energy.

Oh the beautiful memories, it's been too long, need a refresher for 2011 :)

One element that's a concern imo is the amount of yards the Broncos allow in defence. Haven't seen the 'total metres gained' or whatever the stat is for tonight's game but the Cowboys would've surely lapped the Broncos in that regard. Achieving more "dominant" tackles is the key.

Cowboys 157runs for 1240m
Broncos 145runs for 1203m

I will be happy if Copley never plays first grade again, he is useless.

Cowboys 157runs for 1240m

hmm, that's a little surprising. Guess a couple of long range tries may have padded Brisbane's stats.

In any case, they just seemed to get us back-pedalling a little more through their sets. Maybe that's due to the fact they were chasing the game for most of the night (?)

Cowboys 157runs for 1240m
Broncos 145runs for 1203m
That includes all the runs, including ball returns.

We got 77 hitups for 567 mtrs against 54 for 431...

Still not much in it between the teams and deserving praise to our forwards who matched it with a full strenght Cows pack without Hannant.

With Hannant and Petro starting next year, And Ando/McGuire on the bench our front row looks good for 2012.

Agree with this.

Whilst we're okay at making metres, too often our defence will stand back and allow opposition forwards to get a roll on. It happens every week.

And that's our main concern if we ever play the Storm again this season. Cam Smith is almost always the difference between the two sides, and it's because of our defence and our markers.

 Why? I thought he was pretty good.

Yeah I thought he had a good game too. :confused

Aside from his try where he showed some good pace, I thought he was poor.

In defence he looked very indecisive, and he didn't really inspire any confidence under the high ball. It was a below par performance IMO.

I thought we played well for most of the night and gave Locky the win he deserved for game 350. Macca continues to impress me this season and we seem to lose momentum when ever he is off the field. the only reason to continue to give Ben Hunt game time off the bench is if he is the front runner for the vacant halves spot next year (i say "vacant" rather than replace Lockyer, because lets face it Lock is irreplaceable)

Pretty harsh on Copley IMO, was pretty solid and looked good under the high ball on most occasions. No doubt if Gagai scored the runaway try he would be paraded around as a champion on these boards. Not poor old Copley.
