PRE-GAME Round 4 - Broncos vs Cowboys

NQ didn't exactly play great last week. Roosters were just absolutely shithouse.NQ weren't really challenged. I'm thinking this will be a good game.

As huge as not one Cowboy in the top 20 tacklers.

(We have Macca and Gillett at 11th and 12th).

In any case when you look at all the stats in all the categories, things become a little more interesting. For one you get a headache which requires at least 3 beers and second, Gillett's stats seem rather good, even better after 4 beers and knowing that Lachlan Coote is in the top 20 for missed tackles. But then so is Ben Hunt, and at the top of the list.

Time for another beer.

Very interesting. I think this set of stats has backed up my theory on macca being too defensive. Now knowing its actually ineffective is a big worry. He has bugger all attack and his defence is overrated.

For mine, perhaps the 2 most important elements of the formula for winning are simple:

Return to the defence which got us to the GF, and, Hunt needs to literally double the amount of times he gets his hands on the ball.

So far this year, he has touched the ball half as many times as Thurston. No way we are going to win without Hunt seriously lifting his ball playing/play making

We cannot just rely on Milford

Every time I think of JYY, I choke up. Imagine if he and Oates were our wingers in the GF last year. :(

Yea very true and his kicking has been whacked.

Or Kahu and JYY on the wings, with Goates on the bench :(

Daniel, what you currently have a hypothesis and a very loose one at that. You can not possibly have done enough tests and you cetainly haven't proven anything to call it a theory. And before you quote some statistic at any of us, just remember, without context, statistics are just numbers.

^^^ haha true, but sorta kinda entertaining...

yeah for sure, but thats kinda the point.. both teams fairly well below their best. almost meaningless unless we see one or both sides get.their shit together. here's hoping of course..

The only statistic that I am interested in is that of the points on the scoreboard at the end of the match (the sample), the broncos have more than the opposition

I reackon Blair will be highly visible Friday night.
Either it's plan A for the Bronx grind out the game in defence with a low scoring game
or we really turn up

Bit over Parker converting - where's Michael De Vere when we need him ?
Best goal kicker Broncos ever had.
Missing those valuable points makes me cringe.

Horsey, am very intrigue by the points you raise here .had never thought of the game on Friday possibly developing into the 2 option you suggest. Are you confident we will come out on top in this ? Also, other certainties for the week a head? Your tips? Intrigue by your reply soon

You know...everywhere I turn it seems as if everyone is picking the Cowboys.

Oh they beat the Roosters 40-0.

Oh they've had the same team together for six games now.

Oh JT

Oh Tamou

Oh Lachlan Coote

Oh stop it.

I'll be honest, I enjoy this sport as much as anyone and so far I could really give two hoots about this season. I've just been waiting, sitting here twiddling my thumbs for this game as this is the moment that I can finally bury that long Sydney trip.

And I'm not alone either.

Looking at the players, it's clear that this game has been playing on their mind as well and it's about time they rectify what happened and get the proverbial monkeys off their back.

It's time to put the Cowboys in their place, stop being gracious losers and remind everyone what this team is capable.

Fans can try and be modest and expect the worst. Oh JT will bomb Eden out of the game, Morgan will teabag Milford, Tamou will destroy Parker...

I don't think it's going to happen. Bennett is the king of seizing the moment and he's had this match circled on his calender since the draw was announced and the boys are going to announce themselves as THE team.

Ben Hunt and Milford far too strong.

Broncos 26 Cowboys 18
Man of the Match: Ben Hunt

The season starts now and finally I feel as if I can finally get into this season.

I so hope you are right, I need this to happen so I can move on TBH.

Everyone except the betting agencies.

Really excited for tonights game, feeling pretty confident we can win. Jimmy to have his best game of the season, will score a try and set up one for Lachlan.
