Rugby League All-Stars

Not sure what you mean by once again, I rarely interact with you.

I misread the post, but I still disagree with the first half of it. Would you feel more comfortable if the Indigenous All-Stars were labelled Indigenous-Australian All-Stars? Or perhaps they should've put (Australian Heritage) next to every Indigenous players name, just to remind everyone that Indigenous people are from Australia..

The "African Heritage" part is just laziness on their behalf though, do some research peeps.

Yeah look sorry if I came across as rude. My point about the 'Australian' thing wasn't as clear as I thought I guess. To explain it better, my meaning is that it just comes across as a bit 'UK-centric'. It looks like they are saying that if you have an anglo-saxon name, you can be counted as Australian heritage. If you have an 'other-European' sounding name or Polynesian-esque name, your cultural heritage must be put down. It just comes across as a bit elitest at best. What was the point of putting it there if you aren't going to research it? Put everyone's heritage accurately or don't put it at all is what I'm trying to say in a nutshell. Sorry for any misleading on my part.

I get your point, but believe you might be over-thinking it a bit. I highly doubt they went up to Sione Mata'utia and said "Oh, your name doesn't sound very Australian, where are you REALLY from?"

I think it's more a case of the NRL just being lazy and trying to get a reasonable diversity of nationalities in the All-Stars side, hence blokes like Jordan Turner & Sam Lisone getting a run. You could construe it as racism or diversity by segregation for sure, but imo they're just trying to make the game have some meaning, which it currently does not.

I mean, you only have to go on to Wikipedia to find out he is of Gambian descent. It is just so unprofessional.

What? Lazy or not, whatever the excuse, it's not professional, and makes them look like absolute pretenders.

I never disagreed with it being unprofessional lol, I completely agree.

Just for the record as well, I'm sure it isn't racist in intention at all but surely they have some highly paid PR people who must have raised objections about how it may have been received or taken. Then again, the NRL is not known for its professionalism.

It's a shocker of a concept, but it is heavily supported by the indigenous superstars of the game and apparently does alot of good for indigenous communities(?). All it needs is one good all in brawl for the media to scream race war or something stupid.I mean I'm all for a game of footy to watch in February but I don't likee the concept.

And the Indigenous team scores.

This mid game interview schtick will be absolutely rubbish especially if they talk to Fifita again.

The indigenous side tonight is bloody good. They've always had a killer back line, and now finally they've got the forward pack to match.

Uate is honestly atrocious.

My god Taylor is playing well.
