There was one game Mead had at fullback last year where he was as toughas they came defensively. Might have been against us. But other than that I can't recall any standout performances really.

I dont think Im confused, seen every game of his since he was 12. He's solid and will prove it once again this yr

Defensive standouts rarely get noticed although i remember a few games from minichello early in his career where he was a beast defensively

Well considering the argument is he is a bad defender, missed tackles do count because missed tackles means he fucked up defensively...

I've watched every single game of David Mead, and I can tell you he isn't the solid defender you think he is. I would suggest you go back and watch the footage again.

Probably 'ineffective tackles', which are subjective anyway. As are missed tackles
