Just on the news.

DISGRACED former NRL star Ryan Tandy has been found dead at his parent’s Saratoga home.

In the latest tragic twist in a wasted life Tandy, a known drug user, died after an apparent drug overdose.
Tandy, 32, was a part-time NRL player thrust into the headlines when he fixed a game involving Canterbury and North Queensland in August 2010.

Despite pleading not guilty, Tandy was found guilty of match fixing and banned for life from the NRL.

Since retiring from rugby league Tandy failed to live a quiet life, and was arrested in January for an alleged kidnapping offence linked to criminal bikie organisations.

Police are expected to release a statement within the next half hour confirming his death.

It is not known whether the death is being treated as suspicious or not.

He played for five NRL clubs for just 36 games.

Wow, isn't he the same guy who got caught match fixing? I wonder if that contributed to him going off the rails.

All that being said, always sad to see someone throw their life away to drugs. RIP

Yeah as well as kidnapping with links with bikies. Obviously feel for his family. Would be a shocking thing to happen.

R.I.P

Involved with bikies & drugs, was bound to happen tbh.

If he was involved with bikies and drugs I wouldn't really call this sad news at all.

No sympathy then, obviously didn't give a shit about trying to get on the straight and narrow.

Just cause he played football doesn't make him a decent human being, Anthony Watts wont be too far behind either.

Just goes to show for all the Cameron Smith's and Darren Lockyer's (who weren't always angels, but developed into strong family men) there's a Ryan Tandy out there.

Maybe Football was all he knew & that was taken away from him.

Before people get on their high horse, I know he was found guilty of betting on games. All the others charged were found not guilty.

IMO: Tandy isn't the 1st player that has bet or are betting on games & he won't be the last, he is just the only one caught.

Tandy may not have been able to find work, because of his criminal record.

Some people absolutely deserve to die. Ryan Tandy was not one of them. But given the kind of things he seems to have been involved with, I'm hardly going to mourn him. Do feel sorry for his family though.

Fair enough, but why fall in with bikies?

He could've reached out to Men of League.

Agree spawn....it is sad. Such a waste.

Some people shouldn't be so quick to judge a person until they've walked in his shoes.

Drug addition is an extremely tough challenge to overcome. Not everybody makes it out alive.
