Sandor Earl charged with peptide use and trafficking

Lol... I do support the Sharks, no doubt about it. However they run a poor second to my love of the Broncs, a fact supported by my attendance at the 1992 Grand Final !!! It's got very little to do with Sharks really though, it's just that I met in person people who were steroidal behemoths playing for Sydney clubs in the eighties and nineties . Shit, I punched on with a few lol.

Earl first met Dank while playing for the Penrith Panthers in early 2011, when the sports scientist was assisting the club with its GPS and Hypoxi programs.

But it wasn’t until Earl had a double shoulder reconstruction midway through that season that the pair began to discuss a different form of treatment.

The Canberra Raiders say they believe Sandor Earl's admission to the use and trafficking of a peptide does not relate to his time with the club.

The Penrith Panthers are taking legal action over a report claiming the club paid for Sandor Earl's supplement use in 2011

The Daily Telegraph reported on Thursday that Penrith may have unwittingly paid for Earl's injections of the growth hormone releasing peptide CJC-1295.

The report claims a Sydney doctor with links to sports scientist Stephen Dank injected Earl 12 times during 2011 and billed the Penrith Panthers Group for $1160.

Martin Kennedy aye.....

Boyd Cordner, Sam Moa and Roger Tuivasa-Sheck were three players named in the Fairfax report who had elevated HGH levels. The trio were later re-tested by the club, with those blood tests not returning elevated levels of HGH.
There is no suggestion any player has acted improperly.
Roosters dragged into NRL drugs saga

I don't believe any action needs to be taken on this one, the sports nutrition company screwed up and the Roosters dropped them quickly when they learnt what was going on.

As to the Earl interview, it was nothing that we already knew, but they just packaged it up as 'Sandor's Story' in order to give a human perspective to the slippery slope that players like him can get exposed to in regards to illegal PED's. All he's done is rolled on Dank, he even said that anything he may have heard about other players he's disregarded as 'heresay' and did not want to repeat it. Whether that's true, or whether he did spill his guts to ASADA (but publicly did not want to look like a dobber) who knows.

As for Dank, it is quite obvious what he is trying to do, and that's argue that the peptides in question are not illegal. Let's disregard the supposed letter from ASADA (or WADA, can't remember) that confirms that those peptides are legal - even if it exists it is likely a forgery otherwise he would have sent it to every media outlet in the country. What he'll be going off is that the drugs that he used were not technically on the banned list, not at the time anyway. However, he is ignoring the fact that it clearly states that anything not approved for human use is illegal, a category that these drugs fall in to. Technically, what he's saying is that he's never supplied or administered anything that appears specifically (by name or code) on a banned list. To say that "he's never given anyone an illegal drug", as he is claiming, is just a twist on this but is technically false.

and if I remember correctly, the WADA code is also quite explicit about the fact that if a drug is absent from its banned list, it doesn't make it legal.

Well Gordie showed once again what a complete retard he is, comparing drugs to cereal and suggesting if a drug makes you sick it's probably illegal, Dr Gordie you'll find a lot of medications make people feel sick.

Disclaimer: not supporting Earl but FMD I know league players aren't known for their intelligence but they've really scrapped the bottom of the barrel using Gordie

What an offensive post.

I suppose Gordie could just flat out lie like noddy, that obviously gets the bushman tick of approval

What's offensive pointing out Tallis is a complete retard, so you think he shows some level of intelligence with comparing cereal to drugs, claiming if something makes you sick it's probably illegal?

I know they want balance so he's a token Qlder but surely they can find one with an IQ higher than his age.

I don't think Gordie is a 'dumb' as you think.

His downfall can often be his passion/enthusiasm for the game as a whole.

Look at him this week, comparing a city of 200k to one with 2.2mil, comparing choosing cereal to choosing drugs, claiming if a drug makes you sick it's probably illegal, he can't be as dumb as I think otherwise he wouldn't be able to tie his shoelaces but he's not far off.

I'm not continuing a discussion like this.

All I will say is that you are lucky our admin is a lot more reasonable than the GH, I think you realise that TBH

I think Gordie was off base with his comments. Firstly, if you trust your doctor why would you say "no, don't give me that medication". You might ask more about it, but you wouldn't say no if you trusted your doctor...which Sandor Earl clearly did. You can't tell by looking at medicine whether it's good or not - unlike weetbix and coco pops.

And yes, some medication makes you feel unwell.

And the other factor here is Sandor Earl was 20 years old. Probably hadn't been treated for many serious injuries so wouldn't know what's "normal" treatment. I think it's really unfortunate what's happened to him. I don't sense at all that he knew what was going on was dodgy, but he has to pay the price for it. Rules is rules. And I didn't think he was trying to feel sorry for himself, he was just stating the facts.

Stephen Dank meanwhile is an absolute bottom feeding piece of shit. Which is evidenced by the fact he was at Danny Weidler's house. Weidler is the world's biggest **** when it comes to sports journalism. And I say without any guilt that if Weidler was hit by a bus I'd fucking throw a party.

I do think Earls going to be used as the major scapegoat, easy target a nuffie player who was leaving the game anyway.

Be interesting to see if Manly get done since Dank was there for years opposed to his short stints at sharks and panthers.

It'd be a lot more widespread than people would want to believe and I'd put money on every club having 1 or more players that have used shit (Raiders included)

If they go through with the trafficking charge that is shit. Fair enough he cops his ban for being misled and being naive otherwise others can use the same excuse and the responsibility has to be clearly with the players to check and double check.

It's not hard to ask whoever is treating you to supply a treatment advice then refer that advice to the official club doctor and ask for a written response for your records.

Written proof that you have asked the necessary questions, FMD, get your manager to do it for you but get written approval.
