Cronulla coach Shane Flanagan will meet with Carney's manager, David Riolo, when it is understood the Sharks will table a two or possibly three-year deal.

lso heard a few whispers that SBW wants to live in QLD, the same source also told me about Inglis so expect to see SBW turn his back on QLD and sign for the Rabbitohs.

Any player who's manager is Khoder Nasser, teams should avoid like the plague. (like SBW)

I don't really understand the animosity towards SBW. The Bulldogs ####ed him over big time.

What an absolute load of ####. They could not possibly have done anything to justify him walking out on his club without even telling them.

How did the Bulldogs screw him over?

BS: $onny Bill, walked out on his contract.

He was happy with the amount, until Mudine & co conviced to leave.

Mundine & co tried the same thing with Solomon Haumono.

Mundine now admits he learnt valuable lessons from the failure of the original plan with Haumono when organising Williams's surprise escape to France.

He signed a long term, low money deal in order to help the club retain their list from the cheating years. In terms people here might understand it's similar to the Petero saga in that it allowed more senior players to have their pay day.

Once they left the club failed to address the disparity of his actual value and his contract. It could have been as much as 300k p/a over 2 or 3 years. It's not uncommon, despite being under contract players are often upgraded.

They tried to stand over him. It was a huge fail on the Bulldogs part. What club fails to re-negotiate their best players contract to something in line with his standing at the club and within the game?

They ballsed up big time and painted him as the villain. SBW handled it poorly, however he was young and dumb. How would you react to a similar scenario?

He shouldn't have signed such a deal. And after he did, he should've honoured it, because he signed it. The Bulldogs didn't hold a gun to his head, and that club weren't his only option. He could've signed on for a shorter term and waited for the other big names to clear out, he could've asked for more money, he could've told them to shove it. But in the end, he signed on to play for a team for five years and walked out on them mid-season without even telling them what he was doing.

Well, I wouldn't SIGN THE ####ING DEAL IN THE FIRST PLACE.

He re-signed with them for 5 years in 2007, believed to be worth over $2.5 million.

So that means it was $500,000 p/a, which is $200,000 more than your estimate.

SBW's situation wasn't that different to Petro's, both signed shitty deals because they loved their clubs and wanted to help them. Both expected bigger paydays on their next contracts/upgrades both got denied it. The difference is Petro showed his age and maturity and handled it better.

Haha. Remember him trying to justify it on TV in his interview? The whole bus driver thing? What a ####.

SBW didn't even wait til his next contract though. He was right at the start of a 5 year deal when he walked out. Want to try again?

POW!

Absolutely ridiculous that anyone can find a defence for walking out on a 5 year deal in year 1. Absolutely outrageous (or outrages if you're The Rock).

Wanna read it again, I said the difference was Petro handle it with maturity.
