They're stable until they miss the finals again or bomb out in Week 1, and then the knives will be out.
I'm not cheering for Siebold or his methods. I'm not against them or down on them either. I just think time isthe judge and I'll start raving about AS after he proves his methods prove successful. Two premierships should be evidence enough.
McGuire with what looks like a little backhand directed at the club..
"It had nothing to do with me. I was out of there before everything went down. It's just great to be part of a club [at the Cowboys] that is so stable … and knows what they are working towards.

We know Bennett can win a premiership as he’s done it 7 times.
We know seibold can reach a prelim.

Once a rat always a rat. I thought he left because he wanted the coin. I’m glad he’s gone because frankly, he’s mediocre af. I never understood the hype around him.
actually, we know Bennett USED to be able to win premierships ... he hasn't won one in a decade ... and he can't keep his job because of his reputation and what he used to be able to do ... we wouldn't accept that from a player, why should we accept that from our coach
I liked Wayne but I also thought it was time to move on and it made sense to me to do a straight swap which I posted in August.
WB won a GF in 2010 with a squad he inherited / tweaked. The previous GF win in 2006 was when the cap was different and our squad was practically the Qld side.
The point being since 2006 he hasn't put together a squad which has gone all the way. He doesn't seem to be able to manage the cap that well, IMO, which is bolstered by his recent commitments to Macca, Bird and Boyd and inability to sign a half.
I'm like alot of people, I'm excited for change. I was happy to have Bennett stay on but also knew something had to change.
The bottom line is this, Seibold has proven nothing until he wins us our 7th premiership. I'm all for him to come in, shake things up, do it his way and I'm 110% behind him, but until he wins us a premiership, his methods and all this talk mean nothing.
Coaches are only proven successful when they win premierships. Clubs and coaches are judged on winning premierships.IMO, if the team can develop the grit that was missing since 2015, then Seibold has proven everything.

I'd love for Seibold to instill in us the grit of 2015, it would go a long way for us to win another premiership, but if we ultimately don't win another premiership for 5 years, what has he proven?
I'd rather come 2nd or 3rd than 6th or 7th, sure, but we see things differently. It would be naive to expect a premiership so soon. WB came back and the expectation was that premierships would come with it, that didn't happen and we got wiped by the dragons last year....The position the team was in/was going was not great under WB. If Seibold can turn this around, and make the right calls player wise, i am happy to come 2nd or 3rd for a year or two. That to me is success.

We haven't been champions or held up the premiership trophy since 2006. Enough is enough. We need our 7th premiership. It has been long enough. Winning the premiership is success.

I couldn't really care about grit. If the team doesn't perform at least as well as the last four years, what was the last six months drama all about?IMO, if the team can develop the grit that was missing since 2015, then Seibold has proven everything.
