Is it just me or did we see some slammin last night. I hope hook learns from this.
1 thaiday wasn't capt
2 he was running wide
3 he was motivated
4 he understood he wouldn't have to play 70 minutes so put 100% into everything

Nothing wrong with this for a topic. I don't think Thaiday has a topic about him.

I for one agree with the OP, I almost forgot why Thaiday was on big dollars because he hasn't looked dangerous in a very long time. I'd love for him to be able to play like that again for the Broncos and consistently, we'd be a different team with Thaiday at his best.

Thaiday, Gillett and Parker should make a killer backrow combination with Glenn coming off the bench.

I also agree about him losing the captaincy but I've been over that many times

Agree 100%. Sam needs to be playing wide. No discussion.

Gives me the shits. Why doesn't he play like this all the time and save it for Origin. Some captain.

Its more than position though. (that just contributed to his try). If it were only position he would have played well in origin one. I think it was more so motivation and knowing he would play limited minutes. He was running fast and with purpose ala storm game. I just hope he holds this form and is in future used to sub for Glenn or visa versa. (he doesn't have to play on glenns side.) surely with hannant Dodds McGuire and hala we have enough minutes. Especially considering bar hala they all play with the same intensity no matter how many minutes.

Corey Parker should be captain instead of Thiaday.

Parker being made captain would be like shuffling the deck chairs on the Titanic.

There was nothing in his 10 or so performances as captain that lead me to suggest he'd be an ideal leader of men. Neither did Sam, but I don't begrudge the administration opting for the alternative in this case.

Hunt was the heir to Lockyer, he had the leadership capabilities to take us forward. Sadly, he couldn't handle the criticism that came from his mirky night club antics and he took his ball and became an AFL player.

Moving forward, I like what I saw from Glenn in 2011-12 as captain. His last effort was horrid but even Lockyer has been humbled before and I believe if he can get back into peak form, Glenn is the guy who will lead our next generation into the future.

The captain isn't the problem. The lack of creative ability in our inept halves is the problem.

I'm not questioning that the captaincy is hampering him, I'm just saying that its kinda shit that our club captain plays his best game of the year by far....not playing for the broncos.

thaiday was pretty good in origin game 1 i thought.

simply having the C next to his name means he plays more minutes than he should. 49 mins last night and playing wide and look how well he goes.

i just, cannot fucking understand, why griffin persists with him at prop. its just stupid.

Thaiday is playing a role he simply isn't suited to. It is destroying him. Hook needs to wake up quick smart and fix it. We aren't getting the best out of any of our players at present.

This is by far our biggest problem in my opinion!

Not only because of the position they play, but because the game plan doesn't play to our strengths, such as having a very mobile pack and fantastic hole runners just to name an example!

Thaiday only played prop out of necessity.

I think Thaiday is only playing prop because Griffin wants all 3 of Glenn, Gillett and himself in the starting side. He's probably playing Gillett because of some agreement when he re-signed, and he can't move Thaiday or Glenn to the bench because they are the captains.

He does seem like the kind of bloke who does anything to keep his favourites in the starting side.
