Cameron Smith has agreed to another 4 years with the Storm.

Personally I am happy about it and also not surprised - think he was doing the increasingly common thing of talking up a desire to come home and talking to other clubs as a way to increase his value. Yes I am very cynical of most professional sportspeople when it comes to contract negotiations. But also good on them - if they can get away with it well done.

Good. He was born a Mexican imbecile, he'll retire a Mexican imbecile.

He was born a Brisbane junior, was overlook (for god knows what reason when you look at our hooking/halfback issues since 2000) and he'll retire in England.

Sorry, I'll rephrase.

He was born to be a Mexican imbecile, and he'll always be remembered a Mexican imbecile icon_thumbs_u

He won't see out his contract. Melbourne will be an also ran within 3 years and he'll seek to get out of his contract or risk losing his Test jersey.

Which is why I so desperately wanted him to sign north. The Aussie skipper deserves better...

I think hammos taking the piss [icon_lol1.
Honestly though, am I the only one slight skeptical?
Slater, Inglis, Smith, Cronk all have re-signed this year ON THERE CURRENT VALUE (not cheap old contracts) none of them would be under 350k I highly doubt it all top class players. That is four players alone on 1.5 million (at the least IMO) then all the other reps they have..... the mind boggles, the bulldogs did it who's to say Melbourne aren't doing it?
Yeah yeah they lost falou, he was on shit all was signed before he hit first grade, mat geyer last contract wouldn't of been much and he would of been under salary cap concession meaning he took even less up, the only person they lost of real salary cap value would of been crocker.

Honestly to me it just doesn't add up.

broncospwn: people have said same things about the Broncos in the past. How could we possibly keep Lockyer, Hunt, Webcke, Civoniceva, Carroll, Thorn, Tate etc under the cap (a la 2006).

True i guess, NEWS LTD clubs all cheating the cap then :P
