I considered that but can't see it, somebody as competeive as him has to have something to play for. He couldn't look at 4 more years of this rubbish it will wear him down.

Well i mentioned to Beads a few days back that the Storm would win by 36.. Only went over by 10.

maybe he wants the cowboys to win a premiership? with him there other players might want to come join him so they can play alongside JT, bolstering the Cowboys side?

that strikes me as something JT would do - hes that competitive that he wants to take his side that noone gives a hope of winning and make them champions. a real champion wouldnt just up and leave because his teams not winning.

Cowboys have got a lot of overpaid under performers (Webb, Kaufusi, Harris), or players who have really tapered off the last few years (Bowen, O'Donnell, Southern, Graham). They need to clean out the deadwood.

its hard to say bowen has underperformed since he basically destroyed both his knees and has only played like 6 games the last 3 years.

agree though, they need a cleanout, mainly of the backs. their forward pack was going great guns all last year, their backs just completely sucked.

That is the harsh reality though, he hasn't had any impact as he has been sitting on the sidelines. O'Donnell is in the same boat, he has missed a lot of football whether it be through suspension or injury. That's probably close to 800k worth of talent on the sideline. Will have an impact on any team.

They look a much better team with him in the halves, however as you say their outside backs are just poo. Ty Williams and Michael Bani are not of first grade standard, whilst the merits of Gallant, brother of Wolflolz and Graham (these days) are debatable at best. The inclusion of Winterstein and Tate will do wonders.

I believe they are starting that cleanout. Winterstein already signed, tate to come

I hope I didn't come across like I was bagging JT coz I wasn't. I seriously doubt anyone would stay where he is unless some major promises have been made regarding recruitment. Time will tell who they have been talking to.

Tamou is better than Kaufusi anyway..

Exactly. Thurston isn't stupid, he can see the potential in the team. Cowboys are under-performing.

Next year they should be a very good team. Their starting 13 for next year could look like this or better.

1. Bowen
2. Winterstien
3. Tonga
4. Tate
5. Graham/Williams
6. Morgan
7. Thurston
8. Scott
9. Payne
10. Kaufusi
11. Mason
12. Bolton
13. O'Donnell

That's a pretty damn good starting 13.[/quote:abyu0kss]

+1, that is a top 4 team on paper. Injuries etc do play a part but that team is awesome.

Kaufusi has been mostly terrible for us, he has averaged about 50m per game this year.

I think he's probably one of our most dissapointing signings of all time.

Ray Thompson will be there ahead of Michael Morgan too, Morgan is only there at the moment because Thompson needed a shoulder reconstruction and Rovelli is terrible.

Hmm. They might be lacking in the front row department then. Only really Matt Scott seems good up front.
even if on paper they lack something in the forwards, in games they certainly dont. their forward pack was absolutely dominating in nearly every match last year, and with Mason there now to replace Tronc they should still be able to do it.

i agree with a few guys above - with that team next year, they have no reason not to be in the top 4 if injuries dont become a problem.
