Can you take a backpack into suncorp? Also an unopened bottle of water? Going early with my daughter for the super hero stuff etc, she'll be dressed in a full buck outfit with a cape and the backpack will be handy if she decides to ditch it . Bottle of water is self explanatory.

Backpacks are fine. The water is 50-50, maybe if you use your own bottle. My mate brings her own in a reusable bottle and it gets through.

Stadium Security & Carry Ins

Bags and other items will be subject to inspection and patrons may be searched. Patrons who refuse inspections or searches may be denied entry to the Stadium. As a general rule, please leave all unnecessary items at home.

This does not apply to patrons with special dietary requirements, provided that such food or beverages are not packaged in prohibited containers. Eskies will be permitted inside the Stadium but will be subject to a search and MUST be able to fit under a seat.
Prohibited items:
• Alcoholic beverages
• Weapons
• Offensive Attire
• Items that may cause a hazard or compromise safety, or that have the potential to cause injury, nuisance or inconvenience to any other person
• Commercially packaged food and beverages.

I walk in with an unopened bottle of water every game so you'll be fine.

Enjoy the game guys!

On a tangential topic, something occurred to me at Origin 3, the other night. What's the roadmap for Suncorp as a stadium? It re-opened post- redevelopment in 2003. It has remained in that configuration ever since with only routine maintenance and emergency repairs seemingly conducted on its major spaces since (I'm sure corporate rooms / suites / facilities have received overhauls in that time).

Is there any future plan for further development or enhancement of the stadium, moving forwards? I have heard rumours around the place Australia's World Cup included a plan to overhaul Suncorp and increase seating capacity to 60,000. I suppose these are now on the backburner, given the failure of that bid?

Curious.

If in doubt, just tuck the bottle into the jacket and pretend it's not even there.

I do it all the time with my Pepsi.

I remember reading something about how both the gabba and suncorp are in need of redevelopment but there us just no money to fund them. You only have to look at the concrete to see how suncorp is getting on a bit. Well designed stadium but it could use an upgrade.

It has massive repairs when it flooded in 2011.
