Support Small Business

State of Origin Rep
I thought I'd start a thread where people can discuss any small businesses that they run/recommend or even if you have a bit of a side hustle that you're working on at the moment you can try to promote it through this platform.

Things are getting tougher and tougher for small business owners and every bit helps.

My business is called Forefront Equipment Finance. We're a finance brokerage specialising in equipment finance. If you or anyone you know are looking to make a vehicle or equipment purchase I'd appreciate the opportunity to provide a quote. We do pay referral fees as well on settlement.

I am based on the Gold Coast and have previously been part of a large networking group, if anyone needs a particular service down this way let me know as there's a chance I'd know someone (or someone who know's someone).

I work for a small business in Greenbank, doing all forms of printing, signage and design. We do it all in-house, and we keep our overheads super low so we are very affordable but great quality. We do a lot of regular work for real-estate agents and local shops, but most of our walk-ins are tradies or small business owners that enjoy the fact we can do their cards and flyers, but also signwrite their vehicles and make up the corflutes that they can stick on the site they're working on.

As of mid next week we will be closing the doors to walk-ins but still trading to our full capability, and utilising collection bins and couriers where possible. Send me a PM, or download one of our catalogues below. Just don't visit our website as it's shit and I'm trying to find time to rebuild it.

This is my brother-in-law's website. He's a freelance photographer. Last week the nine jobs he had were all cancelled.

This week he had four jobs lined up all of them were cancelled. He does corporate work as well as individual work. He was doing a lot of work for QUT and UQ, but they have both dried up as well.

His contact details are on the website as well as samples of his work.

He's also a Broncos die-hard.

All of BHQ must shop exclusively in large department stores.

Come on guys. Where do you buy your shit? Favourite Chinese restaurant? Favourite bakery?

Plenty of small business are open and trading. Who are they?

I'll plug a few:

On the Fly cafe at Burke st in the Gabba, that's my regular for breakfast before work.
Wooden Spoon (thai) on Logan Rd in Holland Park West and Metro Chicken next to them.
There's a few cafes in Stone's Corner I also like that have only opened recently: Mug Drop (near Aldi) and another hippyish one next to Indimex that I can't remember the name of.
Variety Plus in the Greenslopes mall is another regular stop for me, those weird discount stores always have something interesting that I never knew I needed.

I bought a set of rocksliders from Bolsy's fabrication (actually I bought a diy kit but I saw the fab work he was doing in his shop.) Good bloke. If you're after sliders or a trailer or any custom metalworky type crap what for putting on or around your vehicle give old matey a buzz. Out past Ippy too so you probably won't get the coronavirus from him.
