Honestly - I've never been a fan of the Sydney RL media (for obvious reasons) but this is just downright disrespectful IMO.

The article is just a taste of the sydney news/papers down here. They talking as if the Eels (mainly) are the premiers already if they beat the Dogs... Brisbane/Storm have been totally discarded down here. I hate to say it but I'm not going to go for the Dogs or Eels on GF night... which means supporting the mortal enemy of recent years but I can't stand the Sydney BS going on... They have to be put in their place by losing the GF!

Yep I think I'll be cheering on the Storm if they win on Saturday, and that's a big deal after the last few seasons. Damn Sydney media.

pfft it's just the Sydney papers appealing to their constituents. The hype surrounding this semi final and strong ticket sales only proves that Sydney is a rugby league town. But Queensland is undoubtedly the centre of the rugby league universe and will be for some time.

5 now. 2004: Roosters vs Bulldogs.
2003: Roosters vs Panthers.
1996: St George vs Manly.
1995: Canterbury vs Manly.
1988: Balmain vs Canterbury.
1986: Parramatta vs Canterbury.

Before that it was always 2 Sydney teams. Note that I don't count Canberra or Newcastle as "Sydney" teams...because they're not! :P

So since Canberra made their first Grand Final in 1987, there have only been 5 all-Sydney Grand Finals out of 24 (2 in 1997, ARL and SL).

The way I see it, with all the media coverage and emotion of this semi final, that both the dogs and Eels will have played their grand final on Friday night. I believe they will both be so prepared mentally and emotionally that whoever wins will be vunerable in the GF. I've heard Gus say it before that teams play their grand final a week earlier after getting caufht up in all the hype of the prelim final. When we win on saturday Im hopingnthat we will play a mentally and emotionally drained opposition that will find it hard to back up in the GF.

I dont want no excuse from the NSW papers. I Wanna play and Eels team with everyone fit in a cracker of a game and for Brisbane to come out the better team in the end.

I'll be definitely going for Melbourne if they beat us on Sat. It's always good when a non Sydney team wins :mrgreen:

If we lose, it would be the worst grand final since....well since last year. Can't think of any sides I'd hate to be in the grand final more than Melbourne, Bulldogs or Roosters.
