Just a thread to say thanks very much to Karmichael for the 6 years of great service to the Broncos. He has been one of our best, most consistent players in that time and his contribution to our 2006 success was absolutely fantastic icon_thumbs_u

Good luck to him for the rest of the season - hope he continues to carve up icon_thumbs_u

Ninja edit. Nice.

Anyway, like Jeb I would like to thank K for his great service up to the first week of the finals in 2008. It's sad what's happened since.

I wish him well in the future, and I hope he doesn't look back with too much regret on the poor decisions he's made in the last 12 months.

I think my enduring memory of K will be the way he put his body on the line each and every week, whether it for the Broncos, Queensland or Australia. Unlike other so-called great fullbacks, he didn't run sideways hoping to find a hole, he ran it back hard and straight. He'd come off second best a fair bit, but without fail he got his team moving forward.

To be such an astute performer from his debut at just 17 was remarkable.

He's a remarkable talent. I just hope this decision doesn't mark the beginning of the end of that story. It's a massive gamble, and I fear he's being taken for a ride by the AFL, particularly the Gold Coast. This reeks of a publicity stunt a la Garrick Morgan defecting from Union to the Crushers in 1995. That was a disaster.

K, I hope it doesn't happen to you.
Good luck.

That's better Coxy icon_thumbs_u I don't mind you criticising in the other thread, but this is purely for the positive and with K there have been a lot of them icon_thumbs_u

Yep, and fair call on the edits, not right to hijack this thread so I apologise.

Ill give him credit up until the same time coxy said, he always put in 100% and did put his body on the line. He seemed to play with passion and the kid had talent, its just sad that this year it hasnt been on show.

I wont go as far as wishing him good luck or be sad to see him go, but hopefully hes happy

This hurts me. Hurts me a lot because i believed in K. I've always been the one in here to defend him when he was often critisized. You were a better rugby league player than most give you credit for. Shouldve stayed that way K. whatever.

Gifted, determinded, gutsy footballer who provided complete safety for us at the back and a handy addition outside the halves in attack. His leadership qualities on the field were outstanding and undoubtedly a strong candidate for captain post Lockyer (circa 2004 - late 2008).

Yeah, he is a fantastic player. Very reliable at the back (except when it comes to tackling sometimes), and even tho he was never as individually dangerous as someone like Bowen or Slater, he made up for it by making the other outside backs more dangerous with his quality passing and kicking game (for a modern day fullback that is). Loved the way he was always the first to run up and "comfort" any player that made a knock-on or gave away a penalty too.

Thanks for getting Ray Warren and Peter Sterling to say C*nt on TV

Always enjoyed watching Karmichael play, always loved his energy and revving up his team mates. He'll be and always has been an asset to any team he plays in. Shame that clubs with a long history with young players they've developed can't be given more leeway to keep those players, especially away from rival codes.

Thanks for that rather disturbing photo on the banner. Meeemmmmmoooriieessss...

And thanks for getting Smarshed by Francis Meli your first game.

Thanks for getting up everytime you got smashed. You showed real courage as a footballer the Broncos will miss you.. I hop ein 2 years time I am watching you carve up in AFL.

Can i thank him for proving that slater is indeed a better fullback?

Thanks for the Kamikazi runs and the boundless enthusiasm.

Disappointed he's leaving, but i'm grateful for the service he's given us over the years.

Always dedicated and passionate on the field, he was a great fella to have in your team.

Good luck.
