First of all, this is not a knee jerk.
One or two fvck ups is ok, but what we have are serious problems that go beyond ( but contribute to ) the players' performance.
Bruno quite simply, has to go.

Th guy is moronic and incapable of maintaining a Rugby league club that potentially has so much going for it. He inherited a club that was successful with all indications suggesting that the trend should continue. What we have now is a club that is leaking players at the rate of knots and we seem unable to lidentify or lure any talent to the club.

The player turnstyles have been spinning over the past couple of seasons - mainly heading out. Bruno's bumbling handling of Bennett's successor was pitiful. The recruitment and retention of players has been abysmal.

Quite simple, Bruno is so completely out of his depth that he must be removed. Those with any involvement in the Broncos must be horrified with what has transpired.
Bruno doesn't appear to care about results and that is a huge concern.

How did this pri(k get the gig - and how does he keep it? I assume there is some form of performance condition built into his employment.
What is the criteria?

Regarding Ivan, the players obviously don't respect him and, with no new faces coming to the club, we can only expect more of the same. The worry with Ivan is the complete lack of any patterns in attack or defence.
I actually feel sorry for Steve Micahaels; he reads so poorly in defence but he doesn't appear to be getting any assistance. He is like a dog that chases every car that comes down the street.

The Broncos need a new CEO and coach.
Simple.

The decision making from both has been unacceptable and should not be tolerated by a professional and iconic organisation like the Broncos.

How long has Bennett got left at the Dragons? think he'd take Brunos job if offered?

Quite simply the broncos board judge bruno on the bottom line. And thanks to good crowds and the best merchandise sales in the comp, the bottom line is always good. But on field has never been worse. The board should immediately sack bruno, ivan, and the entire coaching staff.

If their on field performances keep up then the crowds will slowly dry up and so will the merchandise sales... I for one will not be buying a 09 jersey, why would i? the players dont even have pride in it

No because Bennett knows the difference between football coaching and team management, and knows what he's good at. Something others (Bruno) struggle with.

Letting WB go.. big mistake.

Excellent point.

well, do you think he would come back and coach if we got rid of Bruno?

Well Bennett hasn't seen out a contract since he entered the nswrl with canberra in 87.

We don't need Bennett, it would be nice.. but really any experienced FIRST GRADE coach would do.

Letting Bennett go was the right thing to do, he needed the change and so did we. The problem is Cullen not hiring an adequate replacement firstly by slurring his first target Bellamy every week in the press and then not chasing Henry before he signed for the Cowboys. Two top quality coaches with top level experience went begging because Bruno is sh#t at his job.

Post-Bennett this club has been exposed as having the worst administration in the game.

No other club in Australian sport could be as dumb as the mob running the Broncos. Only a club with a moron like Cullen running the show could orchestrate a plot whereby the club's heart and soul was allowed to walk out with a year on his contract without the club having any successor in place. After months and months of Cullen banging on about the importance of a 'succession plan' we all find out the 'plan' was some bizarre attempt to get Bellamy to agree to join us two years into the future, therefore making his current employment untenable. The fact that the people running this club believed that to be an acceptable strategy tells you everything about why the club has gone to the dogs so fast. We must have some real quality dimwits in charge.

Let's not even go over the hilarity that was the Alhambra fiasco. Months of negative headlines, the club's credibility in tatters, and for what? To protect three players, one who went on to play the grand total of one more game for the club, another bloke who stayed for another year before jumping ship, and Thaiday. 2/3 will be gone within a year of the incident but we are now stuck with Cullen fining blokes 50K in a hopeless attempt to recoup all the credibility that the club lost when Cullen threw the club's morals out the backdoor to win one finals match. Thankyou Bruno for another great long-term decision.

Cullen has to go. Compare him to a Searle or Greenburg - he's an embarrassment. Piss off!

Smithdom, top post mate. Could not have put that any better!

I have been saying Bruno needs to go all season. He has destroyed the fabric of the Broncos. Players don't want to play for us anymore fans don't even want to support us anymore. I expect a very poor showing next weekend at our home game.

I agree. I highly doubt that the situation would be much more different if WB was here (they may have played with a bit more pride, but we never escape the slump). We have had slumps for the last 8 years. However it is WBs fault that we still have shit like Michaels and Parker (just to name two). Why those two players were never dropped is baffling.

We needed, and always needed, someone who has absolutely no connection to the Broncos whatsoever. Someone who has the balls to drop the shit players we have. Someone who has no attachment or relationship to any of the players, someone who won't be a father figure, but an actual coach. Taking back Bennett would be taking a step backwards. St George have been really lucky this year. No injuries or major suspensions, and he has had the opportunity for a fresh start, which is great for anyone. All coaches in recent days have had good success in their first years, with their new clubs.

Why they never went for Henry is beyond me. He is the true reason behind Queensland succeeding. Even John Lang would do the job.

Just wanted to add tha Smithdom's post was on the money. Cullen is the biggest problem by far.

Agreed with WB needing a change... I still think we should have kept him for 09 at least but in the end I guess it doesn't really matter.

We obviously need a change off the field. This is very different to when the Sharks were getting lapped... They were definitely trying their guts out with a shotty roster... last night look at our team on paper compared to the Raiders... Ricky himself said at conferences and articles that the team was a tight bunch but they just lacked the talent to compete against the top teams... Ivan has pretty much said the same thing for the past 5 weeks or so... "All I know is I have to keep trying bla bla bla"... whether he is deliberately giving out mundane answers I don't know but... it just doesn't seem like there is much going on off the field either....

Tim Sheens would be the perfect fit for Brisbane.
He is a creative coach who will actually teach and inspire players about the game. A high quality coach, who knows the game, is essential.

Bruno's idea of investing lots of money into young players who aren't quite ready for the big time is very flawed. I mentioned in another post somewhere that the game is about 'now'.
In the old days of loyalty and long term commitment to clubs the idea of nurturing juniors was the way to go.

The moron, Cullen, doesn't appear to have noticed that times have changed. Why invest time, money and patience into a player who, when ready, is likely to jump ship.

Get rid of Cullen immediately because he is a complete idiot.
Ivan is out of his league.

Get Sheens.
