I can't see them staying at Suncorp for much longer when they struggle so much to get support. Sadly for them, once they move the chances are their support will drop even further.

it is incredible, though, the sheer number of juniors soccer gets. One local club has more boys playing than the entire number of boys that play hockey in brisbane. :(

I dunno whats the go with the new coach the roar have (Postecoglou), but so far he has managed to drive out the roars 2 best players in the space of 1 month. That is really not a good sign of things to come. I know that no man is bigger than the club, but surely that applies to the coach as well? WTF is he doing?

Sam: I think the problem with hockey is that it's not an easy game to play...at all, let alone play well. Soccer is dead easy for any kid, no matter how gumby, to participate in. I'm not saying it's easy to be great at it, far from it, but even the biggest deadshit can play a game.

Plus equipment and stuff gets expensive for hockey, whereas all you need for soccer is some boots.

I never had an opportunity to play hockey until high school, and by then I was into cricket so it wasn't going to happen.
