The media's crusade against the Broncos in 2018 has been a disgrace

I'll start off by stating the obvious: no NRL side worth their salt should be so mentally pissweak that whatever the hot topic of the day is brings them down to the levels we've seen our mob play this year. There it is up front, the team bares some responsibility.

It began a week out from Round 1. Lodge was a confirmed starter for us and the media were like dogs on an Icey pole. "IT'S SCANDALOUS. HOW DARE THE BRONCOS HOW DARE THEY RABBLERABBLERABBLE". And it went on, and on, and on, and on, and on for months. There was no water left in the trough after they were done ravaging that little chestnut.

Then came the Bellamy saga, which admittedly is mostly the clubs own doing. Blind freddy could see he was using the negotiations with us to drive up his price at Melbourne, but that didn't stop the shameless ***** in the media once again going to work on the Cow until it resembled a Victoria's secret model.

And finally, to top off a year where the Broncos have once again been the media's favorite whipped dog, it hits the airwaves that the club wants Bennett gone and he's had a "falling out" with Paul White. I mean fair dinkem, talk about being denied a fair suck of the sav. It has just been round the clock distractions for the team all, fucking, year. And it is starting to show in their mentality at the pointy end.

It's probably fair to say Bennett's days at Red Hill are numbered, and his departure is going to wreak havoc on this squad. TPJ will probably walk away, Boyd will remain for his final year just to stink it up for us even more, and Jack Bird will probably continue to be a 1 million dollar bench warmer.

What a fucking fucked year to be a supporter of this club.

The sad thing is he did have a couple of great touches - he just cannot be consistent. This has been proved.

We’ve definitely been in the media for the wrong reasons nonstop this year, and the media are a bunch of slugs that’ll hype up any story and run it into the ground. I have no respect for the scum.


That being said, we have brought a lot of it on ourselves, and if anything it highlights the troubled state of our club.


Lodge was always going to be a big story no matter which club he returned for. It was gross the amount of mileage they squeezed out of it but it was always bound to happen.

As for the Bellamy saga, again that was news worthy. And again they ran it into the ground and bent the truth but a big club trying to force out the biggest coach in the game with the next biggest coach was always going to be big news. It doesn’t help that it was handled pretty poorly by those involved.

Now there is the ongoing obvious Bennett contract dramas. Yep, they are probably over blowing it and stretching the truth but Bennett has publicly commented on it way more times than he should have because he’s using it to pressure the club. It’s very messy and there’s no one but the club and Wayne to blame for it being news worthy.

Add on top of that our current on-field issues and what do you expect?

In summary, the media dogs are going to be scum about any little story they can force their grubby hands on and this year our club has been making their job easy

Not sure how you can fault Milford when he's the only proper half on the field, and pretty much our only kicking option. The only person who could has done that role better than Milf of late as a 5/8 has been Maloney for the Sharks, and even then Townsend is a better player that Nikorima.

Agreed with Boyd: he's done. It took me a while to admit, but he just needs to stop embarrassing himself.
