You’ve covered width and girth, but don’t forget depth. Ours is like 15 years old, so maybe some elements are out, but it only properly toasts the lower three-quarters. Make sure you get one with adequate depth if you like to be fully satisfied.
My pastor said the same thing to me when I quizzed him bout a suitable wedding partner.

Snapchat is for teens to do stupid shit and think they have privacy.
Instagram is for advertising and superficial people to portray their lives as much more exciting than they actually are.
I'll add to that people who take profile pictures with it, with a glamour filter, thinking the world is fooled.

So it sounds like a superficial waste of time while blindly alerting advertising agencies where you are, what you like and giving them free rein to monetise your personal details?

yeah but if you have facebook, or a smartphone with location, you're doing the same thing.

Social media influencer is one of the more baffling terms I've come across.

The worst part is when people try to be one.

I have 3 friends right now (1 cousin & 2 dudes I went to school with) that are quite obviously trying really hard to build up their "profile" to then try to attract sponsors. It's fucking cringe.

What probably pisses me off the most though is that the concept actually works. Like all advertising. You fabricate a persona that people aspire to and then sell them shit because they want to be just like that fake person.

I only started to notice this patreon thing a few months ago ( i know I'm slow) but to me it seems like a 21st Century begging letter. You work on the principle that 1% of almost any group has enough cash and is gullible enough to part with it and you end up free-loading from them. granted some of the causes they represent are worthwhile, but you need to stop and critically think - what is the root cause of this shit?

The whole Patreon thing is odd to me. Some content creators offer some decent incentives to join (free shit, discounted tech etc) but some of them basically give you nothing. It's pretty much just give me money to receive a notification that I've uploaded a video. I can understand supporting a channel financially if you really enjoy it, but some of these guys seem to make massive amounts of money from advertising alone so it's not like they're doing it for free.
