This is hilarious if true. He just found out that when your with the brothers its not cool hahaha

TIMANA Tahu, the man at the centre of the NSW Origin racism row, has been accused of racially vilifying a 16-year-old Aboriginal boy at a league tournament.

Northern United coach Chris Binge claims his son Caleb reported that Tahu called him a "black c***" at the weekend during the Koori Knockout tournament in Woy Woy, on NSW's Central Coast.

Anyone else finds it more than a little bit strange that the words used are exactly the same as Johns allegedly used for Inglis? eusa_think

+1 Just stinks of some stupid kid(or parent) trying to accuse him so they can get "famous".

Worse thing for me re this is that the kid is signed with the Broncos

According to the news this morning a number of people have claimed they heard him say it.

But it's not racist is they say it to each other - it's only "whities" aren't allowed to say it [eusa_doh

Tahu is claiming he is the victim of verbal abuse.

The bloke is a massive knob, he should have stuck with Union.

the reality is, thats basically how society sees it unfortunately.

people of other races can say whatever they want without being labelled a racist, but the second a white person says anything theyre hung out to dry.

Yup it's the whole majority vs minority complex.

That's right, my cracker!

Timana is very mixed up and confused. He publicly blamed Anderson for 'making' him play with an injury on top of the Johns thing and now this - it smacks of ' I need someone to blame for the way I feel'.
He seems very emotionally inept.
He also seems to be struggling with his identity.
In one way I feel very sorry for him.
However there are many more ways that I don't.

Tim Tam Tahu - word is Ando never wanted him but the club made that push... etc etc. Hence SK asked for roster control... Anyways - Tahu is not the same anymore. Wild passes - inconsistency in D... I've no problem him playing Centre but he has to stop leaving out his winger to dry sometimes.

My own people are out to get me, says Timana Tahu

Embattled rugby league star Timana Tahu last night described as "laughable" claims that he racially vilified a 16-year-old Aboriginal youth at a weekend knockout carnival.

In a TV interview, Tahu suggested "my own people are out to get me" in response to claims he had labelled the youth a "black c ... " as he played in a match at Woy Woy.

I must admit I am still struggling with all of this re the racism aspect. Leaving aside the perjorative c*** aspect to it, does simply referring to someone as a black man or woman make that a racist comment? If so, why, is it because you are using a physical descriptor to label?

If that is the case, would it not be equally discriminatory to describe someone as fat, large, skinny, short, asian, aboriginal etc. If I describe the suspect of a robbery as being a white male, am I being racially prejudiced? If not, why not? If that isn't a racially discriminatory comment or observation, why is it one if I was to describe the suspect as being a black man? I'm not trying to be smart, I am just trying to understand what about that descriptor makes it racially offensive? Does the addition of some other perjorative comment, is that what turns it into a racist comment?

The Anti-Discrimination Act describes treating a person with an attribute less favourably than others without that attribute. Describing someone as black does not mean that I am treating them less favourably than others. I am genuinely interested in your thoughts?

This has been my question about the whole "racial vilification" issue.

I think back to Anthony Mundine vs Barry Ward (I think it was). Mundine called him a fat c***, Barry called him a black c***. Ward got fined and threatened a suspension. Mundine got nothing.

There is a difference between insult and racism.
Besides, it's not only the words that define racism, it's also their intent.

I agree completely. In the above example, Mundine was first to throw an insult. Ward simply responded.

Ward gets fined. Mundine gets praised as a hero.

How is that right?
