I can respect the biting off more then he could chew part, yes we have all done that.
The reason i say he did a half assed job is because it's round 4 and he's gawnnn. And Milford and Knik need him now more then ever.
I guess the last 3 of 4 games we have played have thrown me into abit of a spin/panic and I would of hoped Walter's of all people could of stuck around abit longer then a couple of months to at least help

Absolutely 100%. I definitely wanted him to stick around but if he's not confident he can give it his entire focus it's probably for the best.

I'm more concerned about if we have a replacement in mind. the article doesn't mention it.

Our last 3 or 4 games haven't been good. No arguments there. Lots of teams are struggling to gel though. Storm, Roosters and Cowboys are misfiring and they were meant to go deep into September. did anyone really think much of the Dragons, Tigers or Warriors?

It's way too premature to gauge any side. I think rounds 6 - 10 are crucial. If we're still playing like humps then we'll be on the same page, same paragraph. If Bennett doesn't make changes then I'll be annoyed.

That is a massive assumption that you have arrived to based on no evidence. Although probably isn’t that much of a leap when you already believe Bennett is the worst coach in the game.

While we are throwing around crazy theories without base, perhaps he is a Russian plant here to spy on our governemnt with the whole career into QLD coach is a front. He has to keep the QLD gig so suspicions aren’t aroused but the broncos gig is leaving him no time for espionage.

Well, at least he hasn't exactly produced miracles or a massive improvement in our halves. So being stranded now, they can hardly do any worse.

"I heard Walters asked during the week how he thinks he's going coaching Milford & Nikorima, and he said the Wayne has taken over, and is now coaching the halves."

Something along those lines, if that's the case it's safe to assume that Bennett simply doesn't think that Walters is doing a good job and can do it better himself, and if the first month is anything to go by, I might have to agree with him.

Maybe teaching Milford and knik the basics of halves play has been like hitting his head on a brick wall. In any case I'm worried about where our points are gonna come from for the rest of the season. Knik just isn't a half back and not sure if Wayne understands that.

We have a big pack (if we pick the right blokes) who can offload, especially TPJ and Lodge. We have to get a roll on, complete well, and let Niko and Milf sniff around for second phase play: we can't do your traditional Melbourne-esque grind with an A+ grade kicking game. It's easier to teach McGuire to offload than it is to try and get Niko to control a game like Cronk or even Hoko.

Maybe Bird into 2rf is a good idea, it's not like his defence would be worse than Glenn's, and he will touch the ball more. Opacic's D has been excellent as well, as has his commitment.

EDIT: not saying that Glenn's D is 'bad', but Bird will be able to defend as well as him at 2rf given his experience defending in the centres.

Walters and WB could disagree on what to do about the current issues at the Broncos. Wayne being the boss and having decisive power, Kevvie might think he's of no use to the Broncos and prefers to concentrate on the maroons, leaving the possible discord out of the news report.

One explanation for that is that he is not getting on with one or both of the halves and hence him remaining on the scene was not going to assist.

I don't know what is going on, but as I have posted since round one, something is off about this club at the moment, there is something going on behind the scenes.

My tinfoil rumour is that Nashy is taking over as halves coach, prior to mounting a coup and overthrowing WB and JD, declaring himself dictator for life and appointing Morkel and Porthoz as his assistant coaches.

But how can we ever expect our defence to hold on if our halves constantly kick it dead or straight down the fullbacks throat. Long kicks for territory are pretty much non existent at the moment.

started watching that NRL tonight show (saw it on the courier mail website) and they had Dean Richie commenting on Walters quitting.

he talks about how it is speculated that Walters quit because he might have trouble dropping Broncos players from the Origin squad (namely Boyd). I think he forgets how QLD work, where they always give the guys who have been there and done that the first shot.

then he talks about how there is more to the situation than is being reported.

talks about how Walters wants to coach the Broncos and how he doesn't want to go down with Bennett. Because Bennett is under pressure given that we have only won 1 game from 4 this season (that being a "lucky" win against the Tigers), I guess he wasn't watching any footy in round 2.

also talks about Green as a possible Bennett replacement, although he says his "mail" is that Green will sign a long term deal with the Cowboys in the next few days

I must be gullible but I'm going with the reasons given. There doesn't always need to be a conspiracy and perception in today's world is everything. I think White, Bennett and Walters are men of honour and so I'm going to accept it on face value. If there is more to it, I don't think I really need to know.
