I am really getting annoyed with what our club has become. We have gone from the most professional club in the league to something that looks amateur at best. I have supported the broncos ever since they came in the league and never once have I been so shocked and appauled at our situation. I remember back in 99 we had an average yr but still we weren't embarrassed like we are being now. The effort against souths was the final straw, it was the first time I have been embarrassed to call myself a broncos supporter.

Just looking back into Bruno Cullen's effort's at the club, I am really thinking he is the Broncos version of George Piggins. As much as he thinks he is doing a good job he is bringing the ship down. I mean look at souths since Piggins left, they have gone a heap better and actually look like building something. Last week I could have taken a loss to souths by a small margin on the chin but when it is something like that, there needs to be answers. But no what is apparently coming out is that Henjack is going to be re-signed. If we would have made a play at Neil Henry we would not be in this position now I can tell you that for sure.

The staff we have in place now is in some parts good, like Alfie being there but why have 3 halfbacks on the coaching staff, worst thing they have done is let Webcke quit. He actually gave them a bit of toughness but now where has it gone. Peter Ryan the apparent defensive guru is a joke. Coming out in the media saying he is not bothered with the results. To have a points diff of -65 is a joke and if we miss the finals for the first time since 1991 it shows how we need changes and now!

Cullen took over in 2003 and look at the quality of players we have lost in the past years. Shaun Berrigan, Casey McGuire, Dane Carlaw, Tom Learoyd-Lahrs, Brad Meyers, Ashley Harrison, Chris Walker, Brad Thorn, Carl Webb, Brent Tate, Petero Civoniceiva, Ben Hannant, David Stagg, Greg Eastwood, Darius Boyd, Michael Ennis. There is plenty more but that's representitive players. Dave Taylor a forward of the future who will be a star we just let go. He needed Webcke around to give him a bit of guidance. And to make things worse most likely losing Karmichael Hunt. How can we let that happen? And what do we get in return? About 3/4 of Fu** all!!! We are way over paying Ashton Sims and Joel Clinton 2 guys that weren't even wanted at their clubs any more.

As for a way forward it is obvious they have no idea about recruitment. Isaak Ah Mau who has been playing well for easts and has not had a run for us even though our forwards suck he has signed for the Cowboys. And yep his brother Leeson a player we could have easily targeted and got to the club with Isaak has gone to the cowboys with him.

What I know is we need a Brian Smith like clean out getting rid of Steve Michaels, Aaron Gorrell, Lagi Setu, Ben Te'o, PJ Marsh as a minimum of players we should get rid of. We should target guys like Brett Delaney from the titans as a solid strong defensive centre, Dan Hunt from the saints as a strong running prop which we desperately need, Brett Kearney from the sharks as a fullback who plays a bit like Karmichael in that he can be a playmaker as well, Ben Ross from the sharks(Incentive based) either way it's a win win situation if he comes back to his best we win if he doesn't we are not paying much for him at all, Danny Williams from the dogs as a strong utility forward who would be an asset to the pack, Nigel Plum from the raiders to add a bit of starch to the defence, Matt Bell from the panthers as an up and coming front rower who would not cost too much, Dene Halatau from the tigers as a good strong utility, Jason Bukuya from the sharks as a good young lock/centre who was brissy originally, Michael Sullivan as a good hooker who can create alot around the rucks would work well off the bench with McCullough starting, Ben Barba from the dogs as a very good up and coming half who from the sounds of it wants out of the dogs, David Kidwell from the bunnies as an old head in a young pack. As much as he might be a bit past it his experience would be valuable.

Anyways I know I went a bit overboard on the post but still thought it should be put out there. Any thoughts of what we need to go forward? Who we could recruit? Or where we are going wrong?

All I can say is that I feel your pain. What I want to know is where are our signings for next year? Not even a rumour of us targeting strong and tough front rowers, nothing... Anyone wondering why Lockyer is taking so long to sign, maybe he doesn't feel like being smashed next year.

Exactly! We have nothing on the horizon in terms of possible signings besides Taumata who has apparently signed with Tigers and Chris Walker in league week today but Cullen said last week they don't want to sign him.

Well there were the Matt Scott rumours I suppose. I don't know why you want Lockyer to re-sign so badly. He's no longer a great player, and if you believe some around here he is now more of an organizational player. Given that's basically what Wallace is, I don't see the great benefit in having both. I wonder how cheap Tim Smith is

He might still be great in many respects, but not in the same way he has been in the past. I think in many of the areas where he is still great, Wallace is very good. Basically, with Lockyer aging he and Wallace are IMO becoming less complimentary and instead become more similiar in what they offer. It's not something that probably matters too much because we have Hunt around, but once he leaves, well...

I think we are buying the wrong type of player and a perfect example of that would be to buy Kidwell. Forget how old he is, he is similar to O'meley in that money is his primary motivation.

T'eo is another in this catergory, he shopped himself around to the highest bidder.

It's something I think Bruno doesn't understand and it is the main thing Bennet did understand. You need to build friendships, trust and a winning culture which is something that takes years to build into a club and can be destroyed in 1 -2 years by having a big turnover in players.

You end up with a bunch of blokes who don't know each other who are just turning up for work, and it makes it much harder to ease the young guys into the team where they can learn the culture then pass it on themselves.

Granted the salary cap makes it damn hard but we have gone away from what the club was built on.

I don't think we need a cleanout so much as we need to get the most out of the players we have. Let's be honest- we have an extremely talented bunch of guys in our squad. Lockyer, Wallace, Hodges, Hunt, Hoffman, Setu, T'eo (was ripping it up for Tigers before Brisbane), Parker, Thaiday, Clinton (who has been playing really well), McCullough, Glenn... and the rest! These are all players with talent and can offer alot to our squd. Then we have Kenny coming back, Taylor who is patchy but when he's on he's unstoppable.

It's not about getting in new players it's about working with what players we have and getting the most out of them! Henjak perhaps is struggling here? Something else happening within the club? Who knows.. It's attitude and determination that is losing us games- not players ability. And that needs to be addressed.

Sure we might need a prop, but as far as 2nd row and backline we are covered for some years yet.
