One week in and it's clear the Broncos missed McCullough's presence on the field.

Should they persist? Or should they go a different route.

If so, who?

Might be silly but just putting it out there. If the concern is Niko's motor over the 80 minutes. Let's say Hunt starts at hooker and Niko at half. Or the other way. The point is they can rotate to give Niko a break from the workload in the middle. I don't see Hunt as a big organizer so there's not a lot lost on changing up the structure in my mind. It might allow an extra effective forward on the bench rather than are not very effective Wadell. Investing minutes in a younger forward has to be better than walking on the spot with Wadell. Does Niko have much of a kicking game?

If we had a better half back backup i would move Hunt, i think with his skill set he could be so destructive as a hooker.

I don't think so lads.. Bennett's whole philosophy is to disrupt the team as little as possible and not weaken one position to strengthen another.

Not sure weakening one position for the sake of another is the way to go. At least for the whole game.

Having Blair back will tighten up our ruck defence and take some more pressure off Kodi... Hopefully he can really step up and play longer minutes.

Is there anyone coming through who could play off the Bench for a 20-25 mins around half time better then Waddell? Surely?

Start with Kodi - gut feel says Bennett will at some point. Maybe the week after Manly.

Keep Waddell in the 17, for now.

But surely Alex Glenn could shovel some passes out of dummy half for 10-15mins per game?

Without Glenn on the left, Reed and Oates are half as effective. With the shape and structures Bennett has created, Glenn is integral to this left hand side.

As for Hunt to hooker, bad move imo. We've spent 2 seasons developing combinations between him and Milford (and Roberts) and that's the way to go.

For mine Niko is the logical and obvious choice with Waddell on the bench. The reverse seems also to be Bennett's option. Niko and Waddell just need to learn to work with our halves, and Boyd. That's our spine and we should stick with it. It's also great experience for Niko and will develop his game even faster as an organiser.

We just have to work with what we have and every player has to commit 100% to playing for each other, as we did in the 2nd half v Sharks, and wait patiently for Macca's return

and if we actually played both halves last week-end against the Sharks.......and if Blair plays......and at least 1/3 of the spine players, play to their usual standard........

Andrew who ....?

It's the only way.

McGuire to hooker with Nikorima off the bench.
Oh no ! Not another person suggesting this ! Joking of course ! A few of us have suggested this but we've met quite some resistance !

After watching Waddell last week, I'm all for J Wal starting, McGuire at hooker, and then Knik to finish the game off at hooker after about 25 minutes.

Well done Huge!!!

If we're going to start someone in place of McGuire and move Josh to Hooker for the initial 30 minutes, it should be Ofahengaue. He's shown over the last few weeks he can handle big minutes, Wallace isn't fit enough to play long minutes, neither is Thaiday (Not effectively, anyway) - Wallace & Thaiday should be specialist bench props this season.
