Around 25% of views on BHQ is from Windows 7. This is a PSA that Windows 7 extended support ends on January 14th. The operating system will be end of life, and you won't be safe online after that date.

It was released 10 years ago. Time flies.

Windows 7, XP, 98...which was the best?
7 all day. XP for nostalgia but man it was still trash. 7 was the first totally good OS MS made. Just worked and worked fucking excellent with zero gimmicks, in many ways I miss it but Windows 10 has been pretty excellent and the creature comforts of W10 means I would never want to use W7 even if it was still secure.

Wowzers, I can't believe it's been a decade with W7!

I still vaguely remember the day I installed it!

I miss keygen music.
I remember installing dodgy pre-alpha leaked builds and using it as my main on my only computer at the time . It was like a half vista looking Windows 7 build, shocking stuff but it was fun.

Nothing beats the secret XP music track though.

MS sent me Windows 7 ultimate as some launch promo. Had it a week before release. I was meant to throw a Windows 7 party with my friends, got a heap of totes and Windows merch. I installed the OS and was done with it.

Edit: Install Windows, throw installer track into Winamp.

Windows 3.11 was when I first cut my graphical teeth. 16 colours and paint. I remember recreating the Mortal Kombat logo and it was rad. Then I made a 10 frame animation of Stimpy coughing up a hairball in some funky program, before animated gifs were a thing.

Me too mate, though Xtree Gold was awesome and somewhat of a GUI.
