Vodafone offered 20% off plan fees, so I upgraded to a S10 today. Should get it Tuesday. Picked up a Spigen Ultra Thin Exact Fit Cover for it too.

Phone cases are named like condoms now.
How are you liking the S10?
My Sony has started wigging out a bit at times, so might be in need of a new one.
Can you get heavy duty cases & screen protectors for the S10, my work environment can be hard on phones (lots of dust)

I really like it. The only thing I don't think is better over the previous models is the in screen fingerprint reader. It's not as good as the 9s on the back.

Otterbox will make cases for it. Pricey, but good. Usually find a decent price online. Also, S10e is worth a look if you don't want the edge.

Can the fingerprint be disabled? A lot of the time I have gloves (thin medical type) on.
Can a pin be used instead?
Cheers

Yeah, you have multiple options to login. From memory, at least:
- Pin Code
- Pattern (less safe)
- Face recognition (will not work on Nashy Nashy 's face)
- Finger Print
- Other nearby device, like a smart watch for example.

I actually really like the finger print on the screen, although it is a bit more sensitive. It allows to login far easier if you can't get to the back pane of the phone (charging on wireless cradle, in the car, etc...)

Loving my S10+ 5G, although it screwed me around yesterday when it rebooted (I had it set-up to reboot every Weds at 3 AM), and no sound worked until I actually logged in. No phone calls came through, no messages, not even the frigging alarm... lucky I didn't sleep in too much!

P.S. Only touch your phone when parked in the car! 😬

Prepare to flame away. When I heard the next iPhone won’t be 5G capable due to worldwide issues with the 5G antenna manufacturer, pulled the trigger on a 512GB iPhone XS...

Should be here Tuesday...

The wife, wanting to source a semi-decent present for our 15th anniversary, went out and bought me a new phone, as the old iPhone 5 is starting to turn off with a flat battery despite having sometimes 50% showing.

She spent $120 on a Telstra phone, which is really all I need, the only catch being it's locked to Telstra as a pre-paid thing. My current plan is through Belong, which runs through Telstra, but of course won't run in this phone because it's not billed through Telstra. We were told if it's not compatible, we can return it within 7 days.

I like the phone enough to consider spending $50 or so to unlock it, but Telstra suck so hard they can't match the IMEI in their system. They keep escalating it, but haven't once called me back with an answer. I can't even get a price until they "find," the phone.

It seems to stem from the fact that it's branded as a Telstra phone, but is technically a ZTE. I now have to return it by tomorrow, or hold on to it and hope they'll be able to actually work out how to unlock the fucker.

Rookie error buying a locked phone mate. There will likely be a way to unlock it, but I'm absolutely certain you would have also been able to get far better value for money with something else.

I had no choice in the deal, it was just handed to me as a gift (to which I dutifully told her what a fantastic gift it was), and she said that as my current plan is through Belong, who work through the Telstra network, the sim *may* work in the new phone. And if not, could be returned.

We'll see how we go if/when they get back to me.

You're kinda missing the point. Return the absolute trash tier ZTE and get one online since this one doesn't work.

It's obviously not network locked, and is operator locked.
