how bad are we running when we're breaking halves into quarters to go "well, we were not getting stomped during that period, bring down the confetti!!"
I didn't say it's time to break out the champagne just yet. Only something to build on.

Is this the first time there was almost a 100% agreement on how terrible Boyd was? Even Morkel didn't quite defend him like in the past.

I waive my defence of him TBH. After seeing that animation of him Cartwrighting on our line, I can't defend that. Piss poor. He was probably absolutely fucking stuffed, as the whole team was and I'm pretty sure he covers more ground than anyone during a game, but he didn't even try. I even tried to reason with myself that he thought the other two defenders had Crichton wrapped up and was staying on the line for the next play, but looking at it multiple times, there is no way Crichton is getting dropped in time.

Booooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo oyd.

Cult3 has gone quiet too, just saying.
Unfortunately even the staunchest supporters will have to admit there was several piss poor efforts from Boyd last night. I like many was hoping for a renaissance of old Boyd but the lack of effort is really alarming. There are no reported injuries so most fans are wondering what the **** is going on and running out of patience.

It was only the 2nd try of the match, 14 minutes into the game. We weren't looking completely gassed leading up to this try I didn't think. Afterwards is when we were really under the pump.

The post contact meters by the Roosters...just nuts. Even if our players got a hold of them they just dragged the players with them. Twice over the try line ffs.

I'm really happy about the 2 screen grabs I've seen of Boyd so far. The one above and another one where he has his hands in the air as Tedesco strolls over. I admire what he's done in his personal life, crawling out of that hole and getting yourself back on track the way he has is admirable. It's a shame he can't do this in his professional career because in this area he has absolutely no heart and seemingly no pride in the jersey. There's no sting in his runs, not only does he do everything he can to avoid being tackled in attack he's no longer putting his body on the line in defence...if he ever really did. I no longer see what he brings to this team other than being safe under the high ball.

I thought this was very poor from Boyd. He had plenty of time to react to Angus taking the run and at least attempt to get in the way.
Been biting my tongue for a while but how the **** do the middle forwards escape criticism when they're the ones allowing the players through in the first place. Ofahengaue has let through numerous tries this year by either moving slowly laterally or just not standing up after making a tackle. Boyd has been shit too but our front line needs to do better

he runs directly at Milf, who comes up with the line then falls back, creating a huge gap either side of him and confusing the shit out of his support defenders - if they condense to fill in the gap the hole simply moves along the chain.

He ran straight through Milf, Glenn and Ofa. Straight through them. They were there and they should have made the tackle before Boyd even came into the equation.

He ran through milf because milf was not in line with the other defenders, you can literally see it in the gif. How are his defensive helpers supposed to help when the guy they're minding is a meter behind the defensive line?

The funny thing with his timid kick returns is he doesnt want to run straight at the defensive line, so he crabs across and gets fucking smashed way worse than he would if he just tucked it under his arm and had a crack.

Mitchell destroyed him last night because everyone knows what he's going to do.,

There's no doubt our defense as a whole is putrid right now, but there's really only one bloke on the field every week who is actively trying to avoid contact at all costs. I called it out in the first 10 minutes of Round 1 when he pretended to slip over to avoid making a tackle. He's done it 6-7 times since then.

He's seriously a fucking disgrace to the jersey right now, and I don't say that lightly.

Milford makes contact a milisecond before Glenn does. Then Ofa throws his arms at him and jumps on his back. When McCinness ran through us Ofa was laying on the floor. When Hunt drew in players to pass to his winger Ofa was waiting for Hunt to run toward him. When Bromwich dummied past Boyd, it was through the hole left by Ofa. He's not first grade quality. And yes Boyd has been shit, but we have problems all round and it's not our 9 either

We should have kept McGuire, at least we wouldn't have been kicking on the 3rd every time, hahaha.

Who knows...Maybe his demons are back? He's had marriage problems and mental health. Just guessing but maybe he needs another stint in a facility. Visibly not enjoying his footy anymore, all is not well in Boydland. Every time he fields a kick at the back first thing he does is look for someone to pass to so he can avoid hitting it up himself. Feel for him but at this level performance matters. He can't keep this up and be in the team much longer.

He's certainly part of the problem though. As I said in my post earlier, the Roosters post contact meters were ridiculous and that is definitely on the big boys in the middle who are supposed to stop that happening.
