In fairness to Brenko, he is a solid player and has an experienced head. Played reps. Unsure if a "star" though.

Let's not beat around the bush here, he made that QLD side because the stocks were really light, Capewell was the other centre

Wasn’t there talk he could have started at Newcastle?

Why?

It might have worked in the 20's and the lower grades, he'll be picked apart in first grade.

Same reason Tesi would be a good 14, only thinking about his ability with the ball, not what he has shown without it

That's very interesting. That's twice in a row the Courier Mail has been given flawed mail by (presumably) the agent and blindsided by the club's announcement. Meyn was expecting a multi-year deal, as Badel was expecting Palasia to be granted an immediate release to the Titans.

Two perfect examples why not to assume the deal is done in the "set to" stage.

Unless Mam or Walsh completely change the way they play, this is going to end the same way the Milford/Nikorima combo did. They’re both 6’s at best.
Look at Storm, have two fullbacks playing halves. Hasn't stopped them

I just think he's a big enough body to fill the role if need be.

He's probably big enough, but he struggles as his tackle tally increases. Playing at lock, his tackle count is going to increase significantly. He'll be gassed pretty quickly.

Opposition teams will just run forwards at him and take him out of the game.

If he works to make the transition full time, maybe it could work. But I can't see Staggs ever being the type of player to be in the thick of the action. He's very much a Renouf type, picking his moments when to inject himself.

Yep , I was not impressed by his late season form .
He wasn`t 1st grade standard any more than Tesi was ... But ,,, he kept getting picked ??
He was injured. He’ll be better this year
