I was wondering the same thing because he always nails every single kick he does and like everything else he does, the kicks are at 100 miles an hour.
Definitely, I put my back out a few times from kicking. As in bedridden. Force 'em backs (where the object is distance) was the worst culprit.

It took me a long time to work out it wasn't a back issue, but spasm in the quads. Once I figured that out I could get up and running again by manipulating the muscles with my thumb.

Not saying this is what's causing Reece's cramps, but it might be part of the picture.

When I was swimming at national trials, one of my squad mates would spew before every race. The more he spewed the quicker he raced. Granted we were swimming 100s and 200s ha. Langer had a vom or 8 before games too.

I'm sure the club's dietician and nutritionists are working on it, but his spewing does concern me a bit. Except the time that he nearly vomited on the Raiders bench, that was fun
Langer used to spew prior to every game but then that was more to do with nerves lol

Get a specialised thumbist to training...wait that is NOT good.

Payne & Piakura look destined for better things throughout the season. For some reason, they looked bigger yet fitter. Love that our conditioning & coaching team put lot of effort into them.
Payne will go to next level surely but Piakura for mine would take big leap in establishing himself as games elite back rower.

Going forward, I would love to see a bench of
Smoothy,
Kobe,
Willison &
BTK.

Cant wait till he is back and raising my blood pressure with his dangerous and risky runs down the sideline.

Ole Harvey Willison stepped on the outside and had a trot like a bigger version of Selwyn after Reyno intercepted the the other night . Put a smile on my dial .

Jesus i used to love forcey backs.
Play it every lunchtime while dodging swooping magpies from the tall trees next to the footy field.
Good times!

Let's say every other game Walsh or another outside back goes down. Who's the forward you stick out there, and if Piakura, who replaces him? Kevvie figured this out weeks ago but went against it this week. It was a gamble.
A gamble almost every team makes every single week.

I have to mention the drop out from Walsh that went 65m on the fly and forced the tigers to start their set on the half way line. I think that is way more valuable than a 40/60 chance of getting the ball back/ turning it over.
Can't believe teams are kicking short 90% of the time now. Would ove to see the stats on tries scored off the set after a short vs long drop out. The 1st tackle is hard enough to defend (eg us in gf) with the other team able to attack the ball and stak numbers, but I reckon it throws out the rest of the set too.

The medical staff seem optimistic that Madden’s injury isn’t bad.

NRL Physio saying there didn’t appear to be a typical pec rupture mechanism. Seemed more the way he landed on the shoulder.

I think he will be okay and will be out for a couple of weeks but I don’t think it will be months.

I thought where he was holding it might be his AC joint, but then they tested pec. I think that's what flegler has at the dolefins so can be a real week to week injury. I didn't see the fall/how he injured it but falling/impact with their arm tucked into their body is the typical mechanism for that injury. Ac joints can be needled at best, couple months at worst from memory (but that's unlikely as it'd be a lot more pain then he was showing).

Yes, we will have a back on the bench next week after last night's shambolic finish.
Only time will tell mate. I understand the thought but it’s much more beneficial if we can find a guy who can cover the back row and centres well. Oates is not that guy.
