Exactly... When he put this in his "argument" you know it's like talking to a brick wall so what's the point... was watching the game with 2 non broncos fans and they said the same; the fact the ref backed himself into a corner by calling held so early does not justify the penalty.... he is in the vast, vast minority on it so the onus is on him to answer, "what is so hard to understand about that?"

So if they are non Broncos fans their opinion outweighs mine ?
Very interesting .... LOL .

Comparing to Latrel getting forced 20 metres back wards .
He was still in the field of play . Do the same thing and drive a guy in goal , over dead ball line or sideline and it`s a restart of play . Rugba League no likey and penalise the team who force it to happen .

But why should the application of the held call be different in different situations, if that is not in the rules. That's pure game management and the kind of inconsistency that fans hate.

Just felt like we were losing the metre and possession game again last night. Hard watch after the first 2 tries.
It's funny because we would often lose the metres battle last year too until someone made a linebreak or we put on one of those sweep plays with Walsh out the back. I guess it's not really our style of footy to grind through the middle for 80 minutes and I'm sure we'll go back to our usual style of play once we have our spine back.

And also by demand because like the Broncos, I dropped the ball on this:

Post Game Head to Head:
1. Cobbo (Broncos) - Best on ground, was like watching Inglis at his best
2. Tuaimalo Vaega (Karens) - This is harsh on Oatesy to be honest, he did some really tough runs but this guy, while he looked spent almost the whole game did some huge runs too and scored
3. Talau (Karens) - He was amazing, absolutely destroyed Staggs, who as we now know, was dealing with broken ribs but even so, Talau was Manly's best on ground
4. Garrick (Karens) - I would have given this to Karapani but he was gone after 60 minutes and understandably so
5. Mariner (Broncos) - He is coming into his own after his injury, was fantastic once again and his ability to turn nothing into something is amazing
6. Mam (Broncos) - I mean, he disappeared for a large chunk of the game unfortunately but Brooks is just Brooks, he can't even be named here
7. Madden (Broncos) - It is telling that up against the Qld captain, he outpointed him, Madden is having some season announcing his arrival
8. Jensen (Broncos) - He is massively undervalued outside our club, he was an absolute machine and a key part of our formidable middle
9. Smoothy (Broncos) - I thought he was excellent, he always is and again, outside the club does not seem to be valued as much as he should be
10. Haas (Broncos) - I'm giving it to him purely because of his miraculous recovery but is clearly hampered by the knee still, even so he is showing more than a few signs of getting back to his best
11. Olakau'atu (Karens) - In my opinion, is the second best second rower in the game behind Fifita, was a threat all night
12. Riki (Broncos) - He also is showing signs of getting back to his best and continues to have an amazing kick chase
13. Carrigan (Broncos) - Is the best middle in the game right not and it isn't even close

14. Chan Kum Tong (Karens) - Just shaded Mozer but both were really good in the relieving hooker roles
15. Willison (Broncos) - He looked pretty limpy after the game but is just so good off the bench and if Haas can get back to full fitness come finals, the one-two punch of Haas-Willison has the potential to be an absolute game changer
16. Bullemor (Karens) - I was really impressed because even though he is never going to be a superstar, he has found his niece as a nimble bench middle
17. Hetherington (Broncos) - He really needs to get his dropped ball once a game out of his system

11-6 to the Broncs and to be honest, I am surprised by that to be honest, it felt like the Karens were all over us most of the game but honestly, the MVP for them behind Talau was the idiot with the whistle, kept it far closer than it should have been

The pass he threw to Jock for the field goal kick was not his best .
He admitted it himself in the sheds .
Overall he did good . He seems to hit the halves with passes wider of the ruck than Billiam does ? Anyone else notice that ?
