Battled well in defence but the forwards apart from Carrigan and possibly Kobe when he was on just didnt aim up. Walsh still very, very frantic. Needs to pick his plays better. The backs werent great at all, especially Kotoni and our halves offered no direction. Big thing is despite the poor displays from some of them i just cant fault the effort.

Kevvie shocking with his interchanges. No way on earth should we be having a key forward playing 80 mins.

We just don't know how to grind. When there's a loose ball we always go the hero play, even when severely under pressure and being dominated.

Kevvie use of the bench is fucking stupid. We keep Jensen off the park for 70mins in a game we are being destroyed via field position, a week after keeping his utility on the pine for 70mins in a game where we lose the halfback. Make it make sense.
for some reason he is using Jensen like he is Palasia, IMO Jensen needs to be ahead of Marty like he was before, Marty hasn't delivered when he was moved ahead of Jensen by Kevvie.

I still think we are best with Jensen starting and Flegs off the bench.

It's 11 points. It could have easily been 40.

We were NEVER winning without Reyno, never. Not against the Panthers. He is the central point of our attack, it all revolves around him. You take that out and the attack suffers.

If he plays, we probably win. We probably beat a lot of sides tonight, but we just had the unfortunate task of taking on the Panthers that are finding form.

Jensen needs to start. I don't care if he only plays 30mins total. He needs to start, with Flegler coming on after about 20mins.

Gutsy in defence.
Staggs and Mam went missing again tonight.
Said it before and I’ll keep saying it, life after Reynolds doesn’t look good. The club really need to sort it, it needs to be a priority. I wouldn’t be shocked to see reyno miss a bit of footy over the next 18 months.
Go after either hunt or walker.
If we magically got hunt, I’d consider playing him at 6 with Reynolds when he’s not injured.

We were folding everyone when that was the rotation, Flegs doesn't have the same effect without some freshness advantage.

Apprently this was Reynos idea in the first place to make him start.

9.
Can fill in the halves when reyno or Mam miss a game. Also a great way to get mozer on the bench and ease into first grade.

I think to gain the respect of the refs when you earn it by respecting the footy. When we start doing that we start getting the calls go our way.
We are still way too frantic.
Staggs is copping it a lot, but man Herbie is a ball hog. He is awesome but I think he needs to be wing or nowhere. While Arthur’s gets manhandled back most kick returns. Wonder if those 2 could swap.

I imagine with Oates and Reyno the game is winnable. I never at any point thought we could win that game, Penrith were in cruise control.

I thought it was a pretty gutsy performance and although some guys could’ve been better I don’t think anyone deserves too much criticism.

The only real glaring flaw was Kev’s bench usage. Patty playing 80 minutes, Marty staying on way too long in his first stint, and not bringing Jensen on until the 70th minute despite the amount of defending required. I swear he must forget about some of the guys on the bench sometimes

I think this was one of his better games and saved us points, easy to forget what he did earlier.
He's still got big plays in him no doubt, but his defemce really sucks now. Another 8 missed tackles tonight, Martin kept running over him

Not happy with the refereeing, our execution at times or the outcome. But **** me we were in that up to our nuts except for some typically fucked calls and a few silly mistakes.
At least our boys seem to give a shit about the jersey this year.

I actually didn't mind the decision to play Carrigan for that length of time. I didn't think there were any obvious signs he had to come off and he seemed to find 2nd, 3rd and 4th winds. He was the captain and it seemed like he made it a point to lead the team tonight.

The Taupau one was disappointing. Should have come off for an HIA when he fumbled the ball. That was absolutely free and they paid the price for not taking it.

41% possession and 700 less running metres than their opposition. Teams usually lose by 40 with these sort of stats and the Broncos would have lost by 50 only two short years ago.

Full credit to Kevvie for assembling a really good football side here. They may not win it this year (or maybe they will) but a title is looming in the very near future.

Pretty proud of the defensive effort. Would have conceded 50 a few years ago. Unfortunately still making too many errors. I guess it’s a good lesson that you need to take the chance when it’s there, and mam failed in that regard tonight. Madden was a lot better than his previous game. Kev’s interchange is horrible.
