MARK Gasnier will announce at noon his retirement from rugby league at the end of this season.
Having returned to the game and his beloved St George Illawarra Dragonsmidway through last year from French rugby club Stade Francais, the 29-year-old centre has decided this year will be his last.

Gasnier has been toying with the idea of retirement since the start of this season and even moreso since the Dragons’ secured their first premiership in 31 years last October.

He doesn't wanna be selected for NSW next year and the best way is to just retire all together.

Yeah Damn BHQ, not liking a player who has never done anything worthwhile for the majority of our teams....(Broncos,QLD,Australia).

Well, it's confirmed.

Seems strange given his back ended contract but whatever.

I came into this thread to make the same point, Fozz. For the conspiracy theorists out there - does it seem odd that Gaz comes back on a massively reduced contract that's only accredited by the NRL once the Dragons back end it with big bucks?. All in time for their run home to the finals..

Yep. DODGY.

I think we all knew it was dodgy & they would find some way to get out of it.
