Haha yeah, and I'd like to get on a horse after the race. Copley reminds me so much of Boyd in his development, we'll really start seeing the best of him from next IMO.

He's a great prospect IMO.

I hope we keep him and get to see what he can really do later on in his career.

He's showing a lot more potential than he did earlier in the season and that run he had last night was great to see.

He still needs to work on his awareness in attack though. Even though you could say they aren't totally his fault, every game he seems to bomb a try in attack. If he fixes that he'll be golden.

Isn't that statement ^ an unfortunate sign of the times .. ie hoping that we can keep one of our promising young players once his 'P' plates come off ....

Yeah, he's a good player and he's locked up a wing position for next year. As Coxy said, he put in the hard yards in the pre-season and earned his spot.

I think people can remember his early struggles a little too easily when he makes a mistake but most mistakes he makes these days are pretty common for wingers and you wouldn't go off about them if it was Uate or Morris.

I have always rated Copley ... although i still think his best position is center. I eventually see Reed moving into the back row and Copley into the centers

I agree completely. I think Copley has great potential, and is starting to show just how strong he is.

Also, with a less rigid, deeper attacking structure, it would make it easier for him to position himself with a bit of room and time. At the moment, our rigid, flat attacking game seems to put lots of pressure on all our outside backs - less time, less space. It seems to me our wingers (and centres) do more work in kick returns and running from dummy half than getting the ball as part of a back line move.

Aside form kicks, how many good tries have our wingers scored from well constructed back line passing moves? Seems our main attacking focus is more on T'eo and Glenn.

Anyway, I like Copley. I think he has a bright future.

I think if Copley doesn't secure a centre spot sometime soon-ish, he'll probably leave for a team where he can.

Doubtful. He doesn't seem like the type.

Copley played well, but why are people on here suddenly acting like it was the second coming of Jesus? One good run and now anyone who said he doesn't seem like a superstar needs to "eat humble pie"?

Pull the other one. He played well for 1 game, in round 26. Needs to do a bit more before people start getting excited.

I get your point but I think he's played more than one good game.

He's been on a steady rise since first getting his shot in the big time. Seems to be a confidence player who when up, can go on with the job. I was pleased for him Friday night in that he seems capable of picking up from where he left off, prior to the leg.

Fair points but lets not forget we won our first game in 6 weeks. Maybe some of us are over excited but I also think you are underrating Copley. he has played more than one good game. His runs from dummy half and general hit ups are underrated.

His general play has been getting better with each game. I still think he's a pretty horrible finisher though. The potential is there but he definitely needs to fit down the bombed tries.

I think he's definitely improved this year and had a number of good games, no doubt about it. But I'm not letting 1 big damaging run against the 15th placed team put him on a pedestal as the next big thing. People did it to gillett and look how that's turned out this year. Copley needs to just keep improving, keep playing and training well, and needs to get those stupid errors out of his game. He bombed that try, and I swear he's done something like that in 2-3 other games this year.

He still needs to keep on improving and improve as a finisher but I like to be positive. I think he is a very good prospect for us.

Maybe some people like to be positive about our players when they deserve it? Rather than be silent until they **** up...

No one on here has said he is the next best thing, most people have just said he has become very solid and is providing great runs from dummy half etc. what people are trying to say is he is a lot better than the guy that earlier people were claiming to be the worst winger in the comp and had pages worth of fail dropley type nicknames attributed to him
